  1. 1. Quantum Dot Solar Cells: Towards Environmentally Friendly Materials

    Author : Viktor A. Öberg; Erik Johansson; Muhammet S. Toprak; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Quantum dots; Nano-crystals; Energy conversion; Solar cells; Quantum dot solar cells; Low toxicity; Silver Sulfide; Silver Bismuth Sulfide; Lead Sulfide; Chemistry with specialization in Physical Chemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : To decrease the world’s energy dependence on fossil fuels, energy production and specifically electricity production needs to shift to more sustainable alternatives. One such alternative is solar cells as they directly convert energy emitted from the sun into electricity. READ MORE

  2. 2. Small-Molecule Galectin Inhibitors - On Tweezers and Talosides

    Author : Christopher Öberg; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Abstract Work on the design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of galectin inhibitors is presented. The most significant results relate to the development of galactose-based arginine “tweezers” and taloside-based galectin inhibitors. The galectins are a β-galactoside binding protein family. 3. 3. Influence of Ly49 inhibitory receptors and MHC class I on T cell and NK cell function

    Author : Linda Öberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : NK cell; T cell; Ly49; MHC class I;

    Abstract : Natural Killer cells (NK) can kill virus infected cells and tumor cells but do not harm normal surrounding cells. The function of Ly49 receptors on NK cells is important in maintaining selftolerance since they transmit inhibitory signals when bound to endogenous MHC class I molecules. Their role in T cells is however unclear. READ MORE

  4. 4. Ear Reconstruction. Clinical and physiological evaluations

    Author : Martin Öberg; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Plastic surgery; autologous ear reconstruction; sensitivity; blood flow; digital morphometry;

    Abstract : Microtia is a congenital malformation where the auricle is not fully developed. In some cases the malformation is complete and the auricle is absent. In Sweden the incidence of microtia is about 2 per 10,000 births. READ MORE

  5. 5. The Columnar Lined Esophagus. Pathophysiological and Clinical Aspects

    Author : Stefan Öberg; Lund Kirurgi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Intestinal metaplasia; Barrett s esophagus; Esophageal columnar metaplasia; Metaplasia; Pathophysiology; Gastroesophageal reflux disease; Esophagus; Surgery; orthopaedics; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi;

    Abstract : There is a persisting controversy concerning the definition, etiology and pathogenesis of Barrett's esophagus. The dramatic and parallel increase in the incidence of esophageal and junctional adenocarcinoma over the past decades justifies an evaluation of the pathophysiology of premalignant metaplastic changes of the esophagus and the gastroesophageal junction.
