  1. 1. Novel Solid Phase Extraction and Mass Spectrometry Approaches to Multicomponent Analyses in Complex Matrices

    Author : Nahid Amini; Gunnar Thorsén; Tuulia Hyötyläinen; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sample preparation; SPE; RAM; GCB µ-trap; GCB disk; High temperature LC; LC MS; ESI; APCI; Matrix effects; LIT-MS; SALDI; Sample screening; Oxidized GCB; Silicon nitride; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : Analysis of compounds present in complex matrices is always a challenge, which can be partly overcome by applying various sample preparation techniques prior to detection. Ideally, the extraction techniques should be as selective as possible, to minimize the concentration of interfering substances. READ MORE

  2. 2. SALDI-MS Method Development for Analysis of Pharmaceuticals and Polymer Degradation Products

    Author : Nina Aminlashgari; Minna Hakkarainen; Klas Engvall; Åsa Emmer; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Surface assisted laser desorption ionization-mass spectrometry SALDI-MS ; polyester degradation products; pharmaceutical compounds; nanoparticles; nanocomposites.;

    Abstract : Surface assisted laser desorption ionization-mass spectrometry (SALDI-MS) was evaluated as a new tool for analysis of polymer degradation products. A SALDI method was developed enabling rapid analysis of low molecular mass polyesters and their degradation products. READ MORE

  3. 3. Novel clean-up, concentration and laser desorption/ionization strategies for mass spectrometry

    Author : Mohammadreza Shariatgorji; Leopold Ilag; Juan Astorga-wells; Bernhard Spengler; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mass spectrometry; ESI-MS; SALDI-MS; Electrocapture; Sample treatment; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : Despite valuable advantages of mass spectrometry (MS) techniques they still have drawbacks that need to be overcome, notably their sensitivity to various kinds of interfering substances and associated difficulties involved in detecting signals from analytes present in trace quantities. Thus, high quality analytical data could be acquired by improving sample pre-treatment techniques and/or ionization methods to increase ionization yields and/or avoid the generation of unwanted ions. 4. 4. LDI-MS strategies for analysis of polymer degradation products, additives and drugs

    Author : Nina Aminlashgari; Minna Hakkarainen; Peter J. Schoenmakers; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; laser desorption ionization-mass spectrometry LDI-MS ; surface; polymer degradation products; additive; drugs; nanoparticles; nanocomposites; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : The advancement of mass spectrometry (MS) has been and continues to be a prominent analytical technique for highly accurate determination of analytes. The goal of this thesis was to develop new laser desorption ionization-mass spectrometric (LDI-MS) methods for analysis of polymer degradation products, additives and drugs. READ MORE

  5. 5. Hydrothermal recycling of natural and synthetic polymers to functional carbon materials

    Author : Karin Adolfsson; Minna Hakkarainen; Istvan Furo; Andrea Kruse; KTH; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Utilizing renewable recourses and waste recycling are necessary for reaching a circular resource society. The concept of this thesis was to set up a sustainable recycling route, suitable even for low quality biopolymer and plastic waste for production of functional carbon materials. READ MORE
