  1. 1. Polymer Bound Water-Soluble Metal Phosphine Complexes-Preparation, Characterisation and Catalytic Application

    Author : Torsten Malmström; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; enantioselective; SAP; hydrogenation; hydroformylation; catalysis; biphasic; rhodium; poly-ethylene imine; poly-acrylic acid; polymers; water-soluble; phosphines; Inorganic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : Four new water-soluble phosphines have been prepared by utilising water-soluble polymers as charge carrying units. Coupling of methyl-4-(diphenylphosphino)-benzyl-amine or 4-diphenylphosphino benzaldehyde to poly-acrylic acid and poly-ethylene imine, respectively, afford the ligands PAA-PNH and PEI-PNH. 2. 2. The Role of IgM and Complement in Antibody Responses

    Author : Christian Rutemark; Birgitta Heyman; Claus Nielsen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Complement; antibody response; mutated IgM; natural IgM; complement receptors; SIGN-R1; SAP; CRP; B cells; Medical Science; Medicinsk vetenskap;

    Abstract : An intact complement system including the complement receptors 1 and 2 (CR1/2) is crucial for the generation of a normal antibody response in animals and humans. Moreover, activation of the classical pathway is thought to be important since deficiency in complement components C1q, C2, C4 or C3 lead to impaired antibody responses. READ MORE

  3. 3. Expression and function of the small immune adaptor protein SAP

    Author : Noemi Nagy; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : XLP; SAP; EBV; BL; lymphocytes; lymphoma; p53; apoptosis; AICD;

    Abstract : The Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) carrier state is widespread in humans. Primary infection can cause infectious mononucleosis (IM) that presents with variable clinical severity, but almost always subsides. For 50% of boys with a rare hereditary immunodeficiency, X-linked lymphoproliferative disease (XLP), primary infection with E13V has a fatal course. READ MORE

  4. 4. Studies on the kinetics and the hormonal regulation of pyruvate kinase type L : proteolytic modification of phosphorylated and unphosphorylated proteins in liver cell sap

    Author : Pia Ekman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : .... READ MORE

  5. 5. On the role of SAP kinase pathways in cellular responses to cancer treatment

    Author : Kristina Viktorsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Signal transduction; apoptosis; stress-activated kinases; cisplatin; ionizing radiation;

    Abstract : Inherited or acquired resistance to therapy is a major clinical problem in the treatment of cancer. Defective apoptosis signalling is increasingly acknowledged as an important mechanism of resistance. Better understanding of apoptosis regulation may therefore help improve therapy. READ MORE
