  1. 1. Synthesis of Nitrogen Heterocycles via 1,3-Dipolar Cycloadditions - Method Development and Applications

    Author : Johan Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; 2D NOESY; alkyne; 3-dipolar cycloaddition; azomethine ylide; 1; CNTs; azide; sequential one-pot; SEM EDS; microwave heating; RuAAC; CuAAC;

    Abstract : Because of the diverse properties displayed by nitrogen heterocycles, they are one of the most commonly used structural elements in drug discovery. Due to this variation in properties, however, the chemistry and synthetic pathway to each heterocycle is unique. READ MORE

    Abstract : The direct variable costs for heat and electricity production based on solid biomass fuel combustion is approximately 3-5 times lower than the costs in a fossil fuel-oil based boiler in Sweden. In addition waste derived biomass fuels are typically much cheaper than biomass not classified as waste. READ MORE

  3. 3. Particulate airborne impurities : express analysis and health effects

    Author : Kai Wilkinson; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The cumulative effects of air pollutants are of principal concern in research on environmental protection in Sweden. Post-industrial society has imposed many limits on emitted air pollutants, yet the number of reports on the negative effects from them is increasing, largely due to human activity in the form of industrial emissions and increased traffic flows. 4. 4. Atmospheric corrosion of zinc-aluminum and copper-based alloys in chloride-rich environments : Microstructure, corrosion initiation, patina evolution and metal release

    Author : Xian Zhang; Inger Odnevall Wallinder; Christofer Leygraf; Manuel Morcillo; KTH; []
    Keywords : atmospheric corrosion; chloride deposition; Zn-Al alloy coatings on steel microstructure; Cu sheet and Cu alloys; microstructure; corrosion initiation; corrosion product evolution; metal release; SEM; IRAS; CRM.; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : Fundamental understanding of atmospheric corrosion mechanisms requires an in-depth understanding on the dynamic interaction between corrosive constituents and metal/alloy surfaces. This doctoral study comprises field and laboratory investigations that assess atmospheric corrosion and metal release processes for two different groups of alloys exposed in chloride-rich environments. 5. 5. Preparation and characterisation of perovskite and noble metal promoted oxide based catalysts

    Author : Leif Dahl; Ragnar Larsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Kemi; oorganisk kemi; Inorganic Chemistry;

    Abstract : This work concerns efforts to improve or replace noble-metal based catalysts used for car exhaust purification.Various oxide based catalysts have been prepared by impregnating washcoats such as (-Al2O3 and SiO2 with appropriate metal ions, and assemblies calcinated at elevated temperatures have been tested for catalytic activity in the oxidation of CO and C3H6 and reduction of NO.
