  1. 16. The Swedish Version of the Philadelphia Geriatric Center Multilevel Assessment Instrument (PGCMAI) : Development and testing in an old-age population with locomotor disability

    Author : Margareta Minhage; Elisabeth Hamrin; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Gender; locomotor disability; PGCMAI; old age; reliability; validity; Nursing; Omvårdnad;

    Abstract : The general aim was to examine the Swedish version of the Philadelphia Geriatric Center Multilevel Assessment Instrument, PGCMAI, in a population of old people with locomotor disability in Sweden. Specific aims were to examine whether the Swedish version of the PGCMAI meets the criteria of reliability and validity when assessing the life situation of Swedish old people with locomotor disability and to explore the pattern of the Swedish version of the instrument in respect of age and gender. 2. 17. Towards more selective sorbents for extraction of drugs and biomarkers from biological fluids using molecularly imprinted polymers

    Author : Mohammad Mahdi Moein; Mohamed Abdel-Rehim; Milton L. Lee; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; molecularly imprinted polymer; sol-gel; solid phase extraction; microextraction by packed sorbent; monolithic column; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : Sample preparation has a critical role as a first step in analytical processes, especially in bioanalysis and environmental analysis. A good sample preparation technique should be robust and stable, regardless of the sample matrix. READ MORE

  3. 18. Spatial decomposition of ultrasonic echoes

    Author : Magnus Sandell; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Signalbehandling; Signal Processing;

    Abstract : The pulse-echo method is one of the most important in ultrasonic imaging. In many areas, including medical applications and nondestructive evaluation, it constitutes one of the fundamental principles for aquiring information about the examined object. READ MORE

  4. 19. Poly (butylene succinate) and poly (butylene adipate) : quantitative determination of degradation products and application as PVC plasticizers

    Author : Annika Lindström; Minna Hakkarainen; Ann-Christine Albertsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemistry; solid phase extraction; degradation products; poly butylene succinate ; poly butylene adipate ; GC-MS; PVC; plasticizer; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi;

    Abstract : A solid phase extraction (SPE) method was developed for simultaneous extraction of dicarboxylic acids and diols formed during hydrolysis of poly(butylene succinate), PBS, and poly(butylene adipate), PBA. The developed SPE method and subsequent GC-MS analysis were used to extract, identify and quantify low molecular weight products migrating from linear and branched poly(butylene adipate) (PBA) and poly(butylene succinate) (PBS) during aging in aqueous media. 5. 20. Functional Polymer Electrolytes for Multidimensional All-Solid-State Lithium Batteries

    Author : Bing Sun; Daniel Brandell; Kristina Edström; Michel Armand; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polymer electrolyte; Li-battery; 3D-microbattery; Functionalization; Polyether; Polycarbonate; Copolymer; Kemi med inriktning mot materialkemi; Chemistry with specialization in Materials Chemistry;

    Abstract : Pressing demands for high power and high energy densities in novel electrical energy storage units have caused reconsiderations regarding both the choice of battery chemistry and design. Practical concerns originating in the conventional use of flammable liquid electrolytes have renewed the interests of using solvent-free polymer electrolytes (SPEs) as solid ionic conductors for safer batteries.
