  1. 1. Development of a covalent site-specific antibody labeling strategy by the use of photoactivable Z domains

    Author : Anna Konrad; Sophia Hober; Hjalmar Brismar; Patrik Samuelsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : antibody labeling; site-specific; covalent; SPPS; Z domain; BPA; SRA - Molecular Bioscience; SRA - Molekylär biovetenskap;

    Abstract : The joining of two molecular functions or the strategy of adding functions to proteins has been tremendously important for the development of proteins as tools in research and clinic. Depending on the intended application, there are a wide variety of functions that can be added to a proteins. READ MORE

    Abstract : Industrial innovation is mostly driven by miniaturization. As a result of remarkable technological advancements in the fields of equipment, materials and production processes, transistor, the fundamental active component in conventional electronics, has shrunk in size. READ MORE

  3. 3. Development of Substance P 1–7 Related Peptides and Peptidomimetics : Targeting Neuropathic Pain

    Author : Anna Skogh; Anja Sandström; Christian Sköld; Rebecca Fransson; Philip Thompson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Substance P 1–7; Peptidomimetics; Solid-phase Peptide Synthesis SPPS ; Palladium catalysis; Carbonylation; Imidazole; Bioisostere; Neuropathic pain; Allodynia; Structure-activity relationships; Medicinal Chemistry; Läkemedelskemi;

    Abstract : The neuropeptide substance P 1–7 (SP1–7, H-Arg1-Pro2-Lys3-Pro4-Gln5-Gln6-Phe7-OH) and its amidated analogue SP1–7 amide, have displayed intriguing effects in experimental models for neuropathic pain acting on a specific, yet unknown SP1–7 target. The aim of this thesis was to design and synthesise SP1–7 related peptides and peptidomimetics, to be used as research tools to study the SP1–7 system, and to serve as drug leads in the neuropathic pain area. 4. 4. Measuring Pregnancy Planning and the Effect of Childhood Abuse on Reproductive Health

    Author : Jennifer Drevin; Mats G. Hansson; Susanne Georgsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : pregnancy planning; unplanned pregnancy; childhood abuse; adverse childhood experiences; reproductive health; Obstetrik och gynekologi; Obstetrics and Gynaecology;

    Abstract : The London Measure of Unplanned Pregnancy (LMUP) and the Swedish Pregnancy Planning Scale (SPPS) are two measurements of pregnancy planning. Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and childhood abuse are stressful events that have been suggested to have both short- and long-term effects. READ MORE

  5. 5. Microstructure of Zirconium Alloys Oxidized in Steam

    Author : Pia Tejland; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; EDX; ADF; TEM; Zircaloy-2; FIB-SEM; STEM; GD-OES; SPP; SEM; Zirconium; HAADF;

    Abstract : Zirconium alloys are widely used in nuclear reactors as fuel cladding tubes because of their low thermal neutron capture cross-section, good corrosion properties and satisfactory mechanical properties. However, the main limiting factor of these materials is the oxidation behavior. READ MORE
