  1. 1. Stability of zopiclone in whole blood : Studies from a forensic perspective

    Author : Gunnel Nilsson; Robert Kronstrand; Johan Ahlner; Fredrik Kugelberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Bio‐analytical results are influenced by in vivo factors like genetic, pharmacological and physiological conditions and in vitro factors like specimen composition, sample additives and storage conditions. The knowledge of stability of a drug and its major metabolites in biological matrices is very important in forensic cases for the interpretation of analytical results. READ MORE

  2. 2. Sterically stabilised liposomes and related lipid aggregates : Fundamental studies on aggragate structure and stability

    Author : Markus Johnsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; liposome; steric stabilisation; colloidal stability; cryo-TEM; drug delivery; Fysik; Physics; Fysik; Physical Chemistry; fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : Various aspects of and approaches towards the steric stabilisation of liposomes have been investigated, mainly by use of fluorescence techniques and cryo-transmission electron microscopy (cryo-TEM). It is shown that PEG(2000)-lipids can be incorporated in the liposome membrane up to a critical concentration of 8-10 mol% without any observable structural perturbations. READ MORE

  3. 3. Improved Molecular Understanding of Lipid-Based Formulations : for Enabling Oral Delivery of Poorly Water-Soluble Drugs

    Author : Linda C. Alskär; Christel Bergström; Brendan Griffin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; lipid-based formulation; poorly water-soluble drug; solubility prediction; molecular properties; lipid digestion; precipitation; solid state; intestinal solubilization; in vitro in vivo correlation IVIVC ; coadministration; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Abstract : The majority of emerging drug candidates are not suited for conventional oral dosage forms, as they do not dissolve in the aqueous environment of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Consequently, a large number of enabling formulation strategies have emerged. READ MORE

  5. 5. Liposomes for Drug Delivery : from Physico-chemical Studies to Applications

    Author : Nill Bergstrand; Katarina Edwards; Felix M Goni; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical chemistry; liposome; steric stabilisation; BNCT; cryo-TEM; EGF; targeting; stability; permeability; pH-sensitive liposomes; triggered release; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical Chemistry; fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : Physico-chemical characterisation of structure and stability of liposomes intended for drug delivery is the central issue in this thesis. In addition, targeted liposomes to be used in boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) were developed.Lysolipids and fatty acids are products formed upon hydrolysis of PC-lipids. READ MORE
