6. Wetting and Capillary Flow of Surfactant Solutions and Inks
Abstract : This thesis presents results of a series of experimental studies on the spreading dynamics of small drops of complex solutions on solid surfaces. The capillary flow dynamics of complex solutions have also been investigated. READ MORE

7. Environmentally Responsive Surface Coatings of Polyion-Surfactant Ion Complex Salts
Abstract : Complexes formed between oppositely charged polyions and surfactant ions are known to have very rich phase behaviour in bulk solution. The work in this thesis investigates the possibilites of using such complexes as surface coatings. READ MORE

8. Controlling Structure and Water Miscibility of Polyion - Surfactant Ion Complex Salts
Abstract : The interaction between poylions and oppositely charged surfactant ions has been investigated. This has been done by using the pure complex salt (polyion + surfactant ion) as a point of departure. Different parameters of the complex salt have been varied in a systematic way and the effect on structure and water miscibility has been investigated. READ MORE

9. Structure-Property Relationships of Surfactants at Interfaces and Polyelectrolyte-Surfactant Aggregates
Abstract : The first part of this thesis is concerned with thestructure-property relationships in nonionic surfactantsystems. The main aim was to investigate how the surfactantstructure influences the adsorption at interfaces andinteractions between surfactant coated interfaces. READ MORE

10. Fundamental Characterization and Technical Aspects of a Chelating Surfactant
Abstract : The purpose of this study was to investigate the fundamental characteristics of a chelating surfactant in terms of solution behaviour, chelation of divalent metal ions, and interaction in mixtures with different foaming agents and divalent metal ion, as well as examining its prospects in some practical applications. Chelating surfactants are functional molecules, with both surface active and chelating properties, which are water soluble and therefore suitable for chelation in many aqueous environments. READ MORE
