  1. 1. Ontology Integration with Non-Violation Check and Context Extraction

    Author : Dan Wu; Anne Håkansson; Carl-Gustaf Jansson; Paul Johannesson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ontology matching and integration; semantic and pragmatic matching; semantic techniques; context; ontology and rules; SRA - ICT; SRA - Informations- och kommunikationsteknik;

    Abstract : Matching and integrating ontologies has been a desirable technique in areas such as data fusion, knowledge integration, the Semantic Web and the development of advanced services in distributed system. Unfortunately, the heterogeneities of ontologies cause big obstacles in the development of this technique. READ MORE

  2. 2. Studies in Semantic Modeling of Real-World Objects using Perceptual Anchoring

    Author : Andreas Persson; Amy Loutfi; Alessandro Saffiotti; Severin Lemaignan; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Perceptual Anchoring; Semantic World Modeling; Sensor-Driven Acquisition of Data; Object Recognition; Object Classification; Symbol Grounding; Probabilistic Object Tracking;

    Abstract : Autonomous agents, situated in real-world scenarios, need to maintain consonance between the perceived world (through sensory capabilities) and their internal representation of the world in the form of symbolic knowledge. An approach for modeling such representations of objects is through the concept of perceptual anchoring, which, by definition, handles the problem of creating and maintaining, in time and space, the correspondence between symbols and sensor data that refer to the same physical object in the external world. 3. 3. Completion of Ontologies and Ontology Networks

    Author : Zlatan Dragisic; Patrick Lambrix; Nahid Shahmehri; Marco Kuhlmann; Fang Wei-Kleiner; Erhard Rahm; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; knowledge representation; ontology; ontology engineering; ontology debugging; ontology completion; ontology matching; description logics;

    Abstract : The World Wide Web contains large amounts of data, and in most cases this data has no explicit structure. The lack of structure makes it difficult for automated agents to understand and use such data. A step towards a more structured World Wide Web is the Semantic Web, which aims at introducing semantics to data on the World Wide Web. READ MORE

    Author : Fredrik Enoksson; Olle Bälter; Ambjörn Naeve; Pawlowski Jan; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Metadata; RDF; Semantic Web; metadata editors; metadata authoring; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Abstract : With the vast amount of information in various formats that is produced today it becomes necessary for consumers ofthis information to be able to judge if it is relevant for them. One way to enable that is to provide information abouteach piece of information, i.e. provide metadata. READ MORE
