1. UDP-sugar metabolizing pyrophosphorylases in plants : formation of precursors for essential glycosylation-reactions
Abstract : UDP-sugar metabolizing pyrophosphorylases provide the primary mechanism for de novo synthesis of UDP-sugars, which can then be used for myriads of glycosyltranferase reactions, producing cell wall carbohydrates, sucrose, glycoproteins and glycolipids, as well as many other glycosylated compounds. The pyrophosphorylases can be divided into three families: UDP-Glc pyrophosphorylase (UGPase), UDP-sugar pyrophosphorylase (USPase) and UDP-N-acety lglucosamine pyrophosphorylase (UAGPase), which can be discriminated both by differences in accepted substrate range and amino acid sequences. 3. Physiology of Caldicellulosiruptor saccharolyticus: a hydrogen cell factory
Abstract : A high substrate conversion efficiency is a prerequisite for an economically feasible biohydrogen production. Caldicellulosiruptor saccharolyticus is a strictly anaerobic extreme thermophilic bacterium that is able to convert the theoretical maximum of 4 mol/mol glucose to H2. READ MORE

4. A comparative study on sugar beet root (Na⁺+K⁺)MgATPases isolated by different methods
Abstract : Msiribrane bound (Na+ + K+)MgATPases from homogenates of young sugar beet roots were prepared either by differential centrifugations or by an aqueous two-phase system. The properties of the MgATPases were deter- mined in the preparations. Potassium [K (° Rb )] uptake into roots of intact sugar beets was also studied. READ MORE

5. Synthesis, Characterization and Application of 68Ga-labelled Peptides and Oligonucleotides
Abstract : The positron emitting 68Ga radionuclide (T1/2 = 68 min) has the potential of practical interest for clinical PET. The metallic cation, 68Ga3+, is suitable for complexation reactions with chelators either naked or conjugated with macromolecules such as peptides and oligonucleotides. READ MORE
