  1. 6. Shb and Its Homologues: Signaling in T Lymphocytes and Fibroblasts

    Author : Cecilia Lindholm; Hamid Band; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cell biology; Shb; T cell receptor; IL-2 receptor; PDGF receptor; cell signaling; adapter proteins; LAT; Vav; PLC-g1; SLP-76; JAK1; JAK3; Jurkat cells; T cells; NK cells; Apoptosis.; Cellbiologi; Cell biology; Cellbiologi; medicinsk cellbiologi; Medical Cell Biology;

    Abstract : Stimulation of the T cell receptor (TCR) induces tyrosine phosphorylation of numerous intracellular proteins, leading to activation of the interleukin-2 (IL-2) gene in T lymphocytes. Shb is a ubiquitously expressed adapter protein, with the ability to associate with the T cell receptor and several signaling proteins in T cells, including: the TCR ζ-chain, LAT, PLC-γ1, Vav, SLP-76 and Gads. 2. 7. Dendritic cells in cancer immunotherapy

    Author : Karin Gustafsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : vaccines; dendritic cells; αDC1; PGE2DC; natural killer cells; T cells;

    Abstract : Dendritic cells (DCs) play a central role in the initiation and regulation of innate and adaptive immune responses and have increasingly been applied as vaccines for cancer patients. Ex vivo generation and antigen loading of monocyte-derived DCs allows a controlled maturation, with the aim of imprinting different DC functions that are essential for their subsequent induction of a T cell-mediated anti-tumor response. 3. 8. Regulation of gut IgA induction by helper T cells

    Author : Inta Gribonika; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; mucosal immunology; secretory IgA; T regulatory cells; T follicular helper cells; Th17 cells; Peyer s patches; IgA class-switch recombination; germinal centers;

    Abstract : The gut is the largest lymphoid organ in the body. Due to intense and constant exposure to the outside world, it also functions as the most important portal of entry for many pathogens. READ MORE

  4. 9. Generation of Therapeutic T Cells for Prostate Cancer

    Author : Ole Forsberg; Magnus Essand; Thomas Tötterman; Gustav Gaudernack; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Prostate cancer; T cells; dendritic cells; peptides; cytomegalovirus; adenovirus; immunotherapy; Clinical immunology; Klinisk immunologi; Klinisk immunologi; Clinical Immunology;

    Abstract : The work presented herein focuses on the activation of the adaptive immune system in order to develop T cell-based immunotherapy for viral infections and cancer. The main goal was to identify and activate viral or tumoral antigen-specific T cells by using different identification, isolation and stimulation techniques. READ MORE
