1. Towards Trustworthy and Secure Internet of Things Devices : Using hardware-assisted Trusted Execution and Automated Certification
Abstract : The advent of Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) for IoT aligns with the reinforcement of IoT security through recent laws and regulations. A major part of IoT systems comprises of resource-constrained devices, with less margin in memory and computation capabilities to embed sophisticated security solutions. READ MORE

2. High-level Programming on Low-level Platforms: Two Domain-specific Languages based on Haskell
Abstract : In this thesis, we describe our research on how to program low-level platforms with high-level languages. As an example, consider applications that run on microcontrollers. Such applications may need to specify precise temporal behavior, carefully manage power usage, and handle cryptographic keys. READ MORE

3. New Intraoperative Techniques to Improve Advanced Aortic Root Surgery
Abstract : Study I: Thirteen patients underwent a modified Ross operation in which the free-standing pulmonary autograft was supported externally by a Dacron vascular prosthetic jacket (DVPJ). The tailor-made DVPJ prevented dilatation of the neo-aortic root significantly following a median follow-up of 47 months compared to a cohort of l3 matched patients undergoing conventional Ross operation. 4. CMOS High Frequency Circuits for Spin Torque Oscillator Technology
Abstract : Spin torque oscillator (STO) technology has a unique blend of features, including but not limited to octave tunability, GHz operating frequency, and nanoscaled size, which makes it highly suitable for microwave and radar applications. This thesis studies the fundamentals of STOs, utilizes the state-of-art STO's advantages, and proposes two STO-based microwave systems targeting its microwave applications and measurement setup, respectively. 5. Infectious endocarditis, aspects on pathogenesis, diagnosis and prognosis
Abstract : The incidence of infectious endocarditis (IE) is estimated to 5.9/100.000 inhabitants and year. In recent years there has been an improvement in prognosis mainly due to more sensitive echocardiographic methods and surgery in the acute phase of the infection. READ MORE
