1. TGF-beta signaling in cancer
Abstract : Transforming Growth Factor Beta (TGF-β) is a cytokine regulating a wide range of cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and migration. At the early stages of cancer development TGF-β functions as a tumor suppressor, mainly due to its inhibitory effect on cellular growth, but during cancer progression, mutations in TGF-β signal components switches TGF-β into a promoter of cancer cell proliferation, survival and metastasis. 2. Smad7 in TGF-β Signalling
Abstract : Members of the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) superfamily of growth and differentiation factors regulate a vast array of biological functions in the adult, and are of great importance in governing cell fate determination and patterning in the developing embryo. The TGF-β signal is propagated intracellularly by Smad proteins resulting in transcriptional responses. READ MORE

3. Novel Regulators of the TGF-β Signaling Pathway
Abstract : The transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) superfamily consists of related multifunctional cytokines, which include TGF-βs, activins, and bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) and coordinate several biological responses in diverse cell types. The biological activity of TGF-β members is executed by transmembrane serine/threonine kinase receptors and intracellular Smad proteins. READ MORE

4. Mechanisms for TGF-β-Mediated Regulation of the Actin Filament System and Apoptosis
Abstract : Transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) is a member of a large superfamily of cytokines which participate in many different types of cellular processes, such as growth inhibition, cell migration, differentiation, cell adhesion, wound healing and immunosuppression. Alterations of TGF-β superfamily signalling results in several different disorders, including bone disease, vascular disease and cancer. READ MORE

5. Diversification of TGF-β Signaling in Homeostasis and Disease
Abstract : With the dawn of metazoans, the ability of cells to communicate with each other became of paramount importance in maintaining tissue homeostasis. The transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) signaling pathway, which plays important roles during embryogenesis and in the adult organism, signals via a heterodimeric receptor complex consisting of two type II and two type I receptors.
