    Author : Shashi Kant; Carlo Fischione; Mats Bengtsson; Bo Göransson; Gabor Fodor; Christoph Studer; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; First-Order Optimization; Convex Optimization; ADMM; Three-operator ADMM TOP-ADMM ; EVM; OOBE; PAPR; ACLR; MIMO; OFDM; Federated Learning; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation; Optimeringslära och systemteori; Optimization and Systems Theory; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : The requirements for next-generation wireless communications networks, particularly fifth-generation (5G) and beyond, are driven by at least three broad use cases. These include enhanced mobile broadband services to support extremely high data rates in terms of network or per user in both uplink and downlink, massive machine-type communications to accommodate massive internet-of-things applications, and critical machine-type communications to handle mission-critical applications that require ultra-high reliability and low latency. 2. 2. Source and Channel Coding for Audiovisual Communication Systems

    Author : Moo Young Kim; Bastiaan Kleijn; Richard Heusdens; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Telekommunikation; Information theory; high-rate theory; source coding; channel coding; quantization; Telekommunikation; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation;

    Abstract : Topics in source and channel coding for audiovisual communication systems are studied. The goal of source coding is to represent a source with the lowest possible rate to achieve a particular distortion, or with the lowest possible distortion at a given rate. Channel coding adds redundancy to quantized source information to recover channel errors. READ MORE

  3. 3. Internet Video Transmission

    Author : György Dan; Gunnar Karlsson; Viktória Fodor; Jean-Yves Le Boudec; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Traffic control; MDC; FEC; Multicast streaming; Queuing theory; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation;

    Abstract : The Internet has rapidly evolved from being a scientific experiment to a commercial network connecting millions of hosts that carries traffic generated by a large amount of applications with diverse requirements. Its architecture was however designed to enable efficient point-to-point delivery of bulk data, and can not provide statistical guarantees on the timely delivery of delay sensitive data such as streaming and real-time multimedia. 4. 4. Channel Estimation and Receiver Design in Single- and Multiuser Multiantenna Systems : Dissertation Submitted for the Degree of Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences

    Author : Gabor Fodor; Ericsson Research; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; multiple antenna systems; estimation theory; stochastic modeling; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation;

    Abstract : As an engineer and researcher, I have been dealing with the research, standardization and industrial-ization of wireless communication systems since the late 90’s. Specifically, I have been witnessing andcontributing to the evolution of the 3rd, 4th and currently to the 5th generation of cellular networks. READ MORE

  5. 5. Dynamic modeling of Internet congestion control

    Author : Krister Jacobsson; Håkan Hjalmarsson; Douglas Leith; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Congestion control; TCP; Control theory; Fluid flow modeling; Internet; Telecommunication; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation;

    Abstract : The Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) has successfully governed the Internet congestion control for two decades. It is by now, however, widely recognized that TCP has started to reach its limits and that new congestion control protocols are needed in the near future. READ MORE
