1. Luminescent textiles using biobased products : A bioinspired approach
Abstract : Nature has designed a few biobased molecules that are responsible for bioluminescence and photoluminescence in some living species. In this thesis, the potential use of luminescence phenomena existing in nature toward the attainment of luminescent textiles was explored. READ MORE

2. Manufacturing Decisions and A Multi-Tier Supply Location Decision-Support Model for Enhancing Sustainability in Textile and Clothing Supply Chains
Abstract : A recent trend towards sustainability has led to increases in various sustainable practices, but sustainability has still not been fully implemented into manufacturing and supply location decisions. A fragmented product supply chain, which has various locations and multi-tier suppliers, leads to difficulties in traceability to ensure the supply chain has business, environmental, and social/socio-economic sustainability, known as the triple bottom line (TBL). 3. 3D printing of polymers onto textiles : An innovative approach to develop functional textiles
Abstract : This thesis aims at characterizing tridimensional (3D) printed polymers onto PET textile materials via fused deposition modeling (FDM) that uses both non-conductive and conductive polymers, optimizing their mechanical and electrical properties through statistical modeling and enhancing them with pre and post-treatments and the development of polymer blends. This research work supports the development of technical textiles through 3D printing that may have functionalities. READ MORE

4. Eco-designed functionalization of polyester fabric
Abstract : There is an increased awareness of the textile dyeing and finishing sector’s high impact on the environment due to high water consumption, polluted wastewater, and inefficient use of energy. To reduce environmental impacts, researchers propose the use of dyes from natural sources. READ MORE

5. Graphene : a vision to the future of smart E-Textile application
Abstract : Smart textile is a term referring to the textiles that could interact with their environment, receiving input and giving output based on their applications. Among smart textiles, electrically driven smart textiles (E-textiles) are being produced by various methods and materials integrated with textile substances. READ MORE
