  1. 6. Characterization and Compensation of Thermal Effects in GaN HEMT Technologies

    Author : Johan Bremer; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thermal coupling; thermal effects; thermal resistance; AlGaN GaN; temperature compensation.; electrothermal; characterization;

    Abstract : Further advancements with GaN based technologies relies on the ability to handle the heat flux, which consequently arises from the high power density. Advanced cooling techniques and thermal optimization of the technology are therefore prioritized research areas. READ MORE

  2. 7. Thermal modelling and evaluation of borehole heat transfer

    Author : Saqib Javed; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ground source heat pump; fluid temperature; borehole; short-term; thermal response test; groundwater-filled; optimization; load aggregation; simulation; recovery; step-response; long-term; ground heat exchanger; times; design; ground-coupled;

    Abstract : The use of ground source heat pump systems to provide heating and cooling inbuildings has increased greatly in the last decade or so. These systems have a highpotential for energy efficiency, which has environmental and economicadvantages. READ MORE

  3. 8. The Physical Environment and Occupant Thermal Perceptions in Office Buildings An Evaluation of Sampled Data from Five European Countries

    Author : John Leland Stoops; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thermal sensation; Europe; thermal preference; seasonal variation; office buildings; temperature perception; outdoor temperature; interior temperature; field study; thermal comfort; Clo; Met; carbon dioxide;

    Abstract : The results from a large field study of thermal comfort in European office buildings are reported. Measurements of physical environmental conditions and occupant perceptions were collected over sixteen months from twenty-six different office buildings located in France, Greece, Portugal, Sweden and the UK. Abstract : Linear response theory is an incredibly powerful calculation tool. We apply this framework in quantum field theory to a variety of models originated from distinct areas in theoretical physics and for different reasons. READ MORE

  5. 10. Thermal Modeling of Walls, Foundations and Whole Buildings Using Dynamic Thermal Networks

    Author : Eva-Lotta Wentzel; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; walls; weighting functions; Dynamic thermal networks; building; dynamic heat conduction; foundation; step-response functions;

    Abstract : The modeling of the energy balance of buildings is a major task in building physics. A new theory called dynamic thermal networks is under development at the Building Physics Research Group at Chalmers. The calculations are based on step-response functions, and the problems are illustrated in so-called dynamic networks. READ MORE
