1. On Modeling and Control of Flexible Manipulators
Abstract : Industrial robot manipulators are general-purpose machines used for industrial automation in order to increase productivity, flexibility, and quality. Other reasons for using industrial robots are cost saving, and elimination of heavy and health-hazardous work. READ MORE

2. Modeling and Control of the Paper Machine Drying Section
Abstract : The topic of this thesis is modeling and control of the last part of the paper machine - the drying section. Paper is dried by letting it pass through a series of steam heated cylinders and the evaporation is thus powered by the latent heat of vaporization of the steam. READ MORE

3. On Real-Time Optimization using Extremum Seeking Control and Economic Model Predictive Control : With Applications to Bioreactors and Paper Machines
Abstract : Process optimization is used to improve the utility and the economic performance of industrial processes, and is as such central in most automation strategies. In this thesis, two feedback-based methods for online process optimization are considered: Extremum seeking control (ESC), a classic model-free method used for steady-state optimization which dates back to the early 1900's, and economic model predictive control (EMPC), a more recent method which utilizes a model to dynamically optimize the closed-loop process economics in real time. 4. Modeling and Control of Flexible Manipulators
Abstract : Industrial robot manipulators are general-purpose machines used for industrial automation in order to increase productivity, flexibility, and product quality. Other reasons for using industrial robots are cost saving, and elimination of hazardous and unpleasant work. READ MORE

5. Process Control and Simulation of Ferromagnetic Strip in the Power Transformers and Electrical Machines Applications : Electric power systems
Abstract : This thesis investigates optimization of the control of electrical and thermal equipment by using FEM and CFD modeling in combination with dynamic simulation models. The thesis focuses on the production of electrical strips and the control system with the aim of reducing losses and improving magnetic properties. READ MORE
