1. Tectonic Evolution of the Zagros Suture-and Imbricate Zones in Iraq
Abstract : Orogenic belts are expressions of tectonic activity, often host various natural resources (e.g. petroleum and minerals reserves), and influence the society and environment through hazards (e.g. READ MORE

2. Estimation of snow wetness using multi-offset ground penetrating radar : towards more accurate estimates of snow water equivalent
Abstract : Measurements of snow water equivalent (SWE) constitute an important input to hydrological models used to predict snowmelt runoffs. The new generation of such models use distributed snow data, including distribution of SWE, as input, and rely on it for calibration and validation. READ MORE

3. Sulphide oxidation and geochemical processes in mine tailings
Abstract : The generation of acid mine drainage (AMD) from oxidation of sulphide- bearing waste is a world wide problem, due to low pH levels and the release of metals to recipients. It is therefore important to understand the fundamental geochemical processes occurring in mine waste. READ MORE

4. Sulphide oxidation, oxygen diffusion and metal mobility in sulphide-bearing mine tailings in Northern Sweden
Abstract : Large quantities of sulphide-bearing mining wastes produced from ore processing are deposited throughout the world. Sulphide oxidation in the wastes may release acidic water with high concentrations of metals to the environment. Remediation strategies are usually site specific, since the physical and chemical properties of the wastes vary. READ MORE

5. Frazil ice at water intakes
Abstract : To provide a better understanding of how frazil ice deposits on trash racks at water intakes, the phenomenon was video recorded at two hydropower plants and in a refrigerated laboratory flume. Initial accretion of frazil ice around a single bar and the motion of particles in the vicinity of an obstacle was simulated through numerical modelling and studied using plastic particles in a laboratory flume.
