    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fuel Cell; Hydrogen Impurities; Carbon Monoxide; Carbon Dioxide; Ethene; Propene; Methane; Propane; Toluene; Electrochemically Active Surface Area; Cyclic Voltammetry; Mass Spectrometry; bränslecell; vätgasföroreningar; kolmonoxid; koldioxid; eten; propen; metan; propan; toluen; elektrokemisk aktiv yta; cyklisk voltammetri; masspektrometri; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : The proton exchange membrane fuel cell generates electricity from hydrogen and oxygen (from air) through electrocatalytic reactions in an electrochemical cell. The Pt/C catalyst, commonly used in PEM fuel cells, is very sensitive to impurities that can interact with the active catalyst sites and limit fuel cell performance. READ MORE

  3. 3. Alkylation and Hydrodearomatization over Zeolite cCatalysts

    Author : Jun-Jun Yuan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Acid catalysts; ZSM-5 catalysts; ethylbenzene; toluene; temperature; diesel fuel; hydrodearomatization; benzene; acidic protons; activity and selectivity; aqueous ethanol; Pt Y zeolite; gasoline; pressure; GC; diethylbenzene; Hydrocracking; SiO2 Al2O3 ratio; alkylation of aromatics; Brønsted acids;

    Abstract : The alkylation of aromatic compounds is widely used in the large-scale synthesis of petrochemicals, and a great variety of fine chemicals and intermediates. Acid catalysts used for alkylation of aromatic hydrocarbons are Brønsted acids containing acidic protons. READ MORE

  4. 4. Physiologically based pharmacokinetic modeling in risk assessment - Development of Bayesian population methods

    Author : Fredrik Jonsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical biosciences; methyl chloride; dichloromethane; toluene; styrene; uncertainty; intra- individual variability; risk assessment; physiologically based modeling; Markov chain Monte Carlo; PBPK; Bayesian; population modeling; Farmaceutisk biovetenskap; Biopharmacy; Biofarmaci; Biopharmaceutics; biofarmaci;

    Abstract : In risk assessment of risk chemicals, variability in susceptibility in the population is an important aspect. The health hazard of a pollutant is related to the internal exposure to the chemical, i.e. the target dose, rather than the external exposure. READ MORE

  5. 5. Acute toluene effects on neurotransmission in the central nervous system

    Author : Karl Stengård; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : acetylcholine; aspartate; cerebellum; dopamine; GABA; globus pallidus; glutamate; microdialysis; rat; striatum; toluene; ;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to develop a method to study the effects of toluene in the central nervous system of the rat. Microdialysis on awake rats was used to study toluene's effects on the transmission of dopamine, acetylcholine, glutamate and aspartate in the striatum, and on GABA in the striatum, the cerebellum and the globus pallidus.
