  1. 1. Transport and environment incentive policy instruments : effects and interactions

    Author : Xing Liu; Lars Hultkrantz; James Odeck; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Congestion pricing; Equity effects; Modal choice; Social marginal cost; Externalities; Transport taxation; Carbon tax; Carbon leakage; Computable General Equilibrium Model; VTTS; Simultaneous decision model; Random utility model; Logistics cost minimization; Additionality; Klimp; Climate subsidy program; Subsidy; CDM; Business Studies; Företagsekonomi;

    Abstract : This dissertation studies issues related to the evaluation of the effects and interactions of transport and environmental incentive policy instruments. Essay 1: Green cars sterilize congestion charges: a model analysis of the reduced impact of Stockholm road tolls calibrates a modal-choice model with data from the Stockholm road toll and uses it to study the sensitivity of congestion toll effects to some seemly subtle changes in the toll system design and external circumstances. 2. 2. Energy system perspectives on transport biofuel policies – a modelling analysis

    Author : Martin Börjesson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; cost-optimization; biofuels; linear programming; fuel tax; district heating; biomass gasification; model; transport; energy systems; MARKAL;

    Abstract : Climate concerns and energy security issues have in recent years triggered the interest in biofuels for transport. This has resulted in governmental and intergovernmental targets that, if implemented, will lead to an unprecedented growth in biofuel production. READ MORE

  3. 3. Techno-Economic Perspectives on Biofuel Futures – Modelling Transport Sector Strategies in an Energy System Context

    Author : Martin Börjesson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; biogas; oil dependence; model; MARKAL; transport; CO2; optimisation; biofuel;

    Abstract : The high oil dependence and the continuous growth of energy use in the transport sector have in recent years triggered interest in transport biofuels as a measure to mitigate climate change andimprove energy security. This work aims to examine techno-economic interactions linked totransport biofuel strategies in national and regional energy systems and their implications for thecost-effective realisation of energy policy objectives. 4. 4. A Microdata Analysis Approach to Transport Infrastructure Maintenance

    Author : Kristin Svenson; Lars Rönnegård; Karin Edvardsson; Nasir Gharaibeh; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Transport Infrastructure Asset Management; Transport Infrastructure Maintenance; Statistical Modeling; Microdata Analysis; Complex Systems – Microdata Analysis; Komplexa system - mikrodataanalys;

    Abstract : Maintenance of transport infrastructure assets is widely advocated as the key in minimizing current and future costs of the transportation network. While effective maintenance decisions are often a result of engineering skills and practical knowledge, efficient decisions must also account for the net result over an asset's life-cycle. READ MORE
