1. Water Absorption in Two-Layer Masonry Systems - Properties, profiles and predictions
Abstract : The main impetus for this research was the desire to verify models for determining transient moisture profiles in the capillary range. For the evaluations, transient moisture profiles were both simulated and measured, after which the results of the two methods were compared. READ MORE

2. Islet Transplantation a Technical Challenge : Studies on Human Pancreas Preservation and Enzymatic Digestion
Abstract : Islet transplantation has found its niche in diabetes treatment. It has contributed to a better quality of life and better glycemic control of patients with diabetes suffering from severe hypoglycemia that are not eligible for vascularized pancreas transplantation. Islet isolation is a technically challenging procedure. READ MORE

3. Crankshaft speed measurements and analysis for control and diagnostics of diesel engines
Abstract : The increasing demands from governments on the engine manufactures to lower the fuel consumption, lower the exhaust emissions and to reduce the noise have lead to an intensive research in the combustion process. Measurement of the combustion process inside the cylinder is only suitable in laboratory environment due to a number of limitations; the pressure transducer needed to measure the pressure is expensive, difficult to mount in the cylinder and has a limited lifetime that is much shorter than the engine's lifetime. 4. Solution-Processable Conductive Graphene-Based Materials for Flexible Electronics
Abstract : This thesis work explores electrical conductors based on few-layer graphene flakes as an enabler for low-cost, mechanically flexible, and high-conductivity conductors in large area flexible and printed electronic devices. The flakes are deposited from aqueous solutions and processed at low temperature. READ MORE

5. Simulation methods for hydropower flows : modeling and validation experiments
Abstract : My research project aims for more accurate modeling of the flow in hydropower plants. By accurate modeling, it is possible to try different modifications on existing plants in an affordable manner. Also, entirely new designs can be tested before realization. Hydropower delivers almost 50% of Sweden's electricity demand with a production of 74 TWh. READ MORE
