1. Enabling and Coercive Control : Coexistence in the Case of Banking
Abstract : This thesis focuses on subjects of control and attitudinal outcomes of formalized control in organizations. Previous research have concluded contradicting results of whether formalized control is positive or negative for the employees and propose that not only degree of formalization, but also type of formalization, can explain attitudinal outcomes. 2. Interaction Analysis in Multivariable Control Systems : Applications to Bioreactors for Nitrogen Removal
Abstract : Many control systems of practical importance are multivariable. In such systems, each manipulated variable (input signal) may affect several controlled variables (output signals) causing interaction between the input/output loops. READ MORE

3. Predictive Control of Diabetic Glycemia
Abstract : Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease, where the blood glucose concentration of the patient is elevated. This is either because of missing insulin production due to failure of the β-cells in the pancreas (Type 1) or because of reduced sensitivity of the cells in the body to insulin (Type 2). READ MORE

4. Applications of Information Inequalities to Linear Systems : Adaptive Control and Security
Abstract : This thesis considers the application of information inequalities, Cramér-Rao type bounds, based on Fisher information, to linear systems. These tools are used to study the trade-offs between learning and performance in two application areas: adaptive control and control systems security. READ MORE

5. Development and evaluation of methods for control of multiple-input multiple output systems
Abstract : In control, the most common type of system is the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system, where the same input may affect multiple outputs, or conversely, the same output is affected by multiple inputs. In this thesis two methods for controlling MIMO systems are examined, namely linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control and decentralized control, and some of the difficulties associated with them.
