1. Traffic-related pollutants in urban snow : Concentrations, size fractionation, and release with snowmelt
Abstract : In urban areas with seasonal snow, traffic-related pollutants such as solid particles, metals, chloride, organic pollutants, and microplastics (MPs) can be temporarily stored in snowbanks along roads and streets. When the snow melts, it releases the accumulated pollutants and the resulting snowmelt with diverse pollutants may partly infiltrate into the ground, or enter storm sewers and eventually be discharged into, and impact on, the receiving waters. 2. Microplastics in the urban environment : Concentrations and composition in stormwater sediments and UV-degradation of common litter
Abstract : Microplastics (MPs) are small pieces of plastic material including tyre wear particles (TWPs) smaller than 5000 µm. One of the primary pathways through which MPs including TWPs enter aquatic and marine environments is stormwater runoff from urban areas. READ MORE

3. Coagulation process characteristics and pollutant removal from urban runoff
Abstract : Many different stormwater control measures (SCMs) can be implemented in order to mitigate issues with polluted stormwater flows into receiving water bodies. The treatment function of SCMs is commonly based on the removal of particles by sedimentation, thereby also removing pollutants associated with particles. READ MORE

4. Microplastic Mitigation in Urban Stormwater : Assessing Horizontal-Flow Filters of Bark, Biochar and Sand as Remediation Strategies
Abstract : Urban stormwater has been suggested as a significant vector through which microplastics (MPs) reach aquatic environments. Currently, only a small fraction of stormwater in Sweden undergoes any form of treatment. READ MORE

5. Components for area-efficient stormwater treatment systems
Abstract : With progressing urbanisation, treatment of urban stormwater is a vital issue that should be addressed to ensure good water quality in receiving water bodies. Treatment may be performed near the source, with different filter systems using various filter materials, or by using an end-of-pipe method, e.g. a stormwater pond. READ MORE
