  1. 1. Collaborating with Gertrude Stein : Media ecologies, reception, poetics

    Author : Solveig Daugaard; Tania Ørum; Carin Franzén; Jesper Olsson; Logan Esdale; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; American poetry; Gertrude Stein; media ecologies; reception; poetics; collaborative poetics; media poetics; ambient poetics; Amerikansk poesi; Gertrude Stein; medieekologi; reception; poetik; samarbetspoetik; mediepoetik; ”ambient” poetik;

    Abstract : The reception of the American avant-garde poet, playwright, art collector and salon hostess Gertrude Stein (1874-1946) has to a wide extent taken place in an aesthetic context prior to her work’s academic and hermeneutic canonization. This thesis is in part a mapping of this transmedia reception as it is played out in a North American context in the period from her death and until today, and in part an account of Stein’s particular collaborative poetics, through which her work invites such a reception. Abstract : Light is the primary source of energy on our planet and has been a significant driver in the evolution of human society and technology. Light finds applications in two-dimensional (2D) photolithography and three-dimensional (3D) printing, where a pattern is transferred to a material of interest by ultraviolet (UV) light exposure, and in laser scribing and cutting, where high power lasers are used to pattern the surface of objects or cut through the bulk of the material of interest. 3. 3. On Evil Twins and Their Absent Friends

    Author : Carola Müller; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : intermetallic compounds; structure chemistry; lead-free electronics;

    Abstract : Knowledge on intermetallic compounds and alloys is essential for technology leaps. The latest of these, the so-called digital revolution, started the period of the information age which is characterized by fast information transfer. READ MORE

  4. 4. Gender and Citizenship : Hausa Women´s Political Identity from the Caliphate to the Protectorate

    Author : Hauwa Mahdi; Göteborgs universitet; []

    Abstract : Tidigare forskare har hävdat att det brittiska herraväldet i Nigeria inte påverkade människorna på landsbygden i någon större utsträckning. Men Hauwa Mahdi hävdar i sin avhandling att kolonialmakten hade ett mycket stort inflytande – inte minst på relationerna mellan könen. READ MORE

  5. 5. X-ray - Based Studies of Structural Dynamics in Solids and Liquids

    Author : Ralf Nüske; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The wavelength of x-ray radiation is much shorter than that of visible light. In fact, it is comparable to the distances between atoms in solids, which is on the order of one tenth of a nanometer. Using light of such a short wavelength, it is possible to study the structure of materials on the atom level. READ MORE
