  1. 21. Dexterous Grasping : Representation and Optimization

    Author : Kaiyu Hang; Nancy Pollard; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Dexterous Grasping; Hierarchical Fingertip Space; Grasp Planning; Grasp Adaptation; Computer Science; Datalogi;

    Abstract : Many robot object interactions require that an object is firmly held, and that the grasp remains stable during the whole manipulation process. Based on grasp wrench space, this thesis address the problems of measuring the grasp sensitivity against friction changes, planning contacts and hand configurations on mesh and point cloud representations of arbitrary objects, planning adaptable grasps and finger gaiting for keeping a grasp stable under various external disturbances, as well as learning of grasping manifolds for more accurate reachability and inverse kinematics computation for multifingered grasping. 2. 22. From Eye to Mind : Early Visuomotor Performance and Developmental Trajectories in Children Born Preterm

    Author : Ylva Fredriksson Kaul; Lena Hellström-Westas; Claes von Hofsten; Kerstin Rosander; Katarina Strand Brodd; Birgitta Böhm; Audrey van der Meer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Children born very preterm; Visual tracking; Reaching; Neurodevelopment; Predictive control; Attention; Cognition; Psychology; Psykologi; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Abstract : Children born very preterm, at less than 32 weeks of gestation, have an increased risk of developing problems with attention, cognition, perception and motor function. Despite this, the developmental trajectories leading from preterm birth to later impairments are not fully understood. READ MORE

  3. 23. Non-Invasive Monitoring of Architectural Heritage

    Author : Jenny Hällström; Bebyggelsevård; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; remote sensing; lidar; laser-induced fluorescence; documentation; hyperspectral; non invasive; non destructive; sustainable maintenance; conservation planning; monitoring; Coliseum; architectural conservation; restoration; Övedskloster; deterioration; Lateran Baptistery; stone; brick; thematic mapping; in situ; imaging; biodeteriogens;

    Abstract : The on-site documentation and examination of architectural heritage has presented challenges for traditional analysis methods in the form of, among other things, large complex structures, sites and environmental conditions. In recent years there has been growing interest in assessing progressing deterioration processes and material analysis, with an emphasis on sustainable conservation and maintenance planning. 4. 24. On the establishment of a data-driven approach to gravel road maintenance

    Author : Keegan Mbiyana; Mirka Kans; Lars Håkansson; Jaime Campos; Ramin Karim; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Gravel road; condition assessment; conceptual modelling; condition classification; data acquisition; data-driven methods; field experiment; literature review; maintenance; visual assessment; Maskinteknik; Mechanical Engineering;

    Abstract : Gravel roads are essential for economic development as they facilitate the movement of people, transportation of goods and services, and promote cultural and social development. They typically connect sparsely populated rural areas to urban centres, providing essential access for residents and entrepreneurs. READ MORE

  5. 25. Infants in Control : Prospective Motor Control and Executive Functions in Action Development

    Author : Janna Gottwald; Gustaf Gredebäck; Claes von Hofsten; Daniela Corbetta; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : infant development; action development; prospective motor control; executive functions; action planning; motor development; motion tracking; embodied cognition; developmental psychology; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Abstract : This thesis assesses the link between action and cognition early in development. Thus the notion of an embodied cognition is investigated by tying together two levels of action control in the context of reaching in infancy: prospective motor control and executive functions. READ MORE
