  1. 1. Narrow-pore zeolites and zeolite-like adsorbents for CO2 separation

    Author : Ocean Cheung; Niklas Hedin; Paul A. Wright; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; CO2 separation; zeolites; phosphates; titanium silicates; ion exchange; flue gas CO2 capture; biogas upgrading; Materials Chemistry; materialkemi;

    Abstract : A range of porous solid adsorbents were synthesised and their ability to separate and capture carbon dioxide (CO2) from gas mixtures was examined. CO2 separation from flue gas – a type of exhaust gas from fossil fuel combustion that consists of CO2 mixed with mainly nitrogen and biogas (consists of CO2 mixed with mainly methane) were explicitly considered. 2. 2. Zeolite macrostructures

    Author : Lubomira Tosheva; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical Technology; Kemisk teknologi;

    Abstract : The preparation of zeolite macrostructures in the form of bilayered hollow tubes and microspheres is presented. The bilayered hollow ZSM-5/silicalite-1 tubes were prepared using carbon fibers as a substrate. The surface of the fibers was modified and colloidal silicalite-1 seed crystals adsorbed. READ MORE

  3. 3. The chemical nature of CO2 adsorption in zeolite A

    Author : Przemyslaw Rzepka; Niklas Hedin; Webley Paul; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; CO2 adsorption; flue gas CO2 capture; biogas upgrading; zeolite |NaK|-A; physisorption; chemisorption; kinetic separation; in situ diffraction; synchrotron XRD; NPD; NMR; IR; Materials Chemistry; materialkemi;

    Abstract : The climate changes are accelerated by increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere connected to the fossil-fuel-based energy system. Substantial reforms of the system are needed immediately and could include the implementation of carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies. READ MORE

  4. 4. Selective Catalytic Reduction of NOx with NH3 - Kinetic Modeling and Experimental Studies using Zeolite Based Catalysts

    Author : Hanna Maria Sjövall; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Selective catalytic reduction; SCR; NO reduction; Ammonia; Fe-zeolite; DRIFT; Cu-ZSM-5; Zeolite; Nitrogen oxide; Kinetic modeling;

    Abstract : Emissions from the combustion of fossil fuel contain several pollutants which can be converted over a catalyst to less harmful products. An efficient way to reduce nitrogen oxides in a lean environment is to apply selective catalytic reduction of these oxides with ammonia (NH3 SCR). READ MORE

  5. 5. A Novel Rearrangement of Allyl Benzyl Ethers and Aspects on the Glyoxylate Ene Reaction

    Author : Johan Wennerberg; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; liverwort; natural product synthesis; phenyl butyraldehydes; allyl benzyl ethers; 2-hydride migration; 1; 4-rearrangement; regio selectivity; shape selectivity; zeolite; Ene reaction; Taxol A-ring; naphthalene derivatives; dihydronaphthalenes; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis describes an improvement of the glyoxylate ene reaction by using siamyl glyoxaylate and a development of the novel rearrangement of allyl benzyl ethers. The glyoxylate ene reaction was used as a key reaction in a 8-step synthesis of a Taxol A-ring building block. READ MORE
