1. Protein structure prediction : Zinc-binding sites, one-dimensional structure and remote homology
Abstract : Predicting the three-dimensional (3D) structure of proteins is a central problem in biology. These computationally predicted 3D protein structures have been successfully applied in many fields of biomedicine, e.g. family assignments and drug discovery. READ MORE

2. Biochemical Studies of Semenogelins with Emphasis on Zinc-Binding Properties
Abstract : Semenogelins I and II (SgI and SgII) are homologous and rapidly evolving proteins that have a repetitive primary structure and are synthesized mainly in the seminal vesicles. Upon ejaculation, a gelatinous coagulum is formed when the semenogelin-rich secretion from the seminal vesicles is mixed with the prostate secretion, which contains high concentrations of zinc(II) and proteases. 3. Structural and Functional Studies of Wilms Tumour Protein - WT1; Novel Insights into Functionality of Zinc Finger Proteins
Abstract : The molecular process under which message in DNA is relayed onto RNA is called transcription, and it accomplished through involvement of so-called transcription factors. Zinc finger proteins are one of the most abundant classes of regulatory proteins in eukaryotic cells where they play central roles in a variety of cellular activities. READ MORE

4. Prediction of zinc-binding sites in proteins and efficient protein structure description and comparison
Abstract : A large number of proteins require certain metals to stabilize their structures or to function properly. About one third of all proteins in the Protein Data Bank (PDB) contain metals and it is estimated that approximately the same proportion of all proteins are metalloproteins. READ MORE

5. Structural studies of metal-binding proteins revealing dynamic behaviour
Abstract : The Mg2+ and Mn2+ structures of calbindin D9k have been determined and they reveal a conformational change compared to the structures of apo and (Ca2+)2-calbindin D9k. These findings are unique, since normally calcium and not magnesium is known to induce conformational changes of EF-hand proteins. READ MORE
