    Author : Lluís Pérez Caro; Mats Oldenburg; Eva-Lis Odenberger; Juan Carlos Cante Teran; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; alloy 718; Haynes 282; cold forming; hot forming; material characterization; GISSMO; welding; heat treatment; manufacturing chain; springback; shape distortions; dynamic strain aging; DSA; microstructure; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Abstract : The reduction of fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions are currently a key factor for the aviation industry because of major concerns about climate change and more restrictive environmental laws. One way to reduce both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions is by significantly decreasing the weight of vehicles while increasing the efficiency of the engine. READ MORE

  3. 3. Surface analysis of low dimensional materials : revealing their electronic properties by advanced spectroscopy

    Author : Vladimir Miranda la Hera; Thomas Wågberg; Eduardo Gracia-Espino; Tomas Edvinsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Low-dimensional materials; surface science; surface-sensitive techniques; angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy; ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy; electronic properties;

    Abstract : Low-dimensional materials (0D, 1D, 2D) have been widely used to develop modern miniaturized (micro- and nano-) technology. The use of these materials come from their extraordinary optical, electrical, thermal, and mechanical properties, which are very different from the bulk crystal. READ MORE

    Author : Göran Lindkvist; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Abstract : The rapid development of computing technology has made powerful tools, such as finite element codes, available for more and more companies. The use of simulation tools, predictive engineering, is a prerequisite today in product development. READ MORE

  5. 5. Increasing phase transformation rate in advanced high strength steel applications

    Author : Farnoosh Forouzan; Esa Vuorinen; Frank Mücklich; Maria Santofimia Navarro; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Advanced high strength steel; Quenching and partitioning; welding; Engineering Materials; Materialteknik;

    Abstract : The bainite transformation rate has been shown to increase by starting the heat treatment with partial martensite transformation after austenitization. Based on this fact, a process very similar to “Quenching and Partitioning” (Q&P) is used to produce a fine-grained complex microstructure of martensite, bainite and retained austenite with outstanding mechanical properties in a very short time.
