  1. 1. Catalytic Asymmetric Ketone and Alkene Reductions Using Transition Metal Complexes

    Author : Klas Källström; Pher Andersson; Per Arvidsson; Jonathan Williams; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Organic chemistry; Catalytic; Asymmetric; Reductions; Ketones; Alkenes; Transition metal; Complexes; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis contains seven papers dealing with iridium and ruthenium based catalytic asymmetric reductions, either of ketones into chiral alcohols, or olefins into chiral alkanes. The first part of the thesis describes how we have designed and evaluated new bicyclic ligands containing either N,S or N,N chelating atoms. READ MORE

  3. 3. Synthesis and Structural Characterization of Copper(I) Complexes with Hard Donor Ligands

    Author : Björn Gustafsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Acetonitrile;  -Sparteine; Chloride; co-ordination chemistry; Phenoxide; Alkene; Bromide; crystal structure; Copper I ; Amine;

    Abstract : Syntheses and crystal structures of nine new copper(I) complexes and one novel mixed-valence copper(I/II) complex are reported: two homoleptic phenoxides and eight complexes with N-donor ligands. The copper(I) and the copper(I/II) phenoxide complexes have been prepared by reactions between mesitylcopper(I) and 2-allyl-6-methylphenol in toluene. READ MORE

  5. 5. Atom and Group Transfer Reactions Involving High-valent Iron Complexes

    Author : Yong Li; Kemisk fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Iron enzymes; high-valent iron intermediates; bio-inspired iron complexes; FeIV=O; FeIV=NR; catalytic reactions; electronic effects; steric restriction.;

    Abstract : Iron enzymes play critical roles in biological oxidation reactions by utilizing highly reactive high-valent iron intermediates, such as FeIV=O, FeV(O)(OH), and FeIV=NR species, for catalytic reactions. These intermediates exhibit remarkable catalytic behavior with high reactivities and high regio- and stereospecificity in various biochemical reactions. READ MORE
