  1. 1. Benthic cryptofauna and internal bioeroders on coral reefs

    Author : Helena Strömberg; Charlotta Kvarnemo; Pat Hutchings; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; bioerosion; cryptofauna; coral; invertebrates; damselfish; Terrestrial; freshwater and marine ecology; Terrestisk; limnisk och marin ekologi;

    Abstract : The cryptofauna of coral reefs may act as a food source for fish, while being grazers or predators themselves, and hence constitute an important group in the coral reef food web. In addition, the actively eroding taxa of the cryptofauna contribute to the decomposition and recirculation of calcium carbonate and are consequently essential for the rebuilding new coral. 2. 2. Cambro-Ordovician microorganisms: acritarchs and endoliths

    Author : Martin Stockfors; Malgorzata Vidal-Moczydlowska; John S. Peel; Kenneth John Dorning; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Earth sciences; Cambrian; Ordovician; acritarch; endolith; Kolguev Island; North Greenland; Stratigraphy; Geovetenskap; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap;

    Abstract : Organic-walled microfossils are abundant and taxonomically diverse in Cambrian-Ordovician strata; some are important for biostratigraphy and for the correlation of geological successions. New assemblages of Cambrian-Ordovician acritarchs from Kolguev Island, Arctic Russia and Middle Cambrian ichnofossils of endoliths from Peary Land, North Greenland are studied. READ MORE

  3. 3. Influence of processing and processing additives on the degradation of aliphatic polyesters

    Author : Rasmus Renstad; KTH; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate), P(3HB-co-3HV),poly(ε-caprolactone), PCL, and poly(lactic acid), PLA,have been subjected to film-blowing, melt-extrusion andmelt-pressing. The influence of processing conditions andprocessing additives (i.e. plasticizer, antiblocking and slipagents) on properties and degradation have been studied. READ MORE
