  2. 2. Novel methods to study genomic fragility and structural variation

    Author : Reza Mirzazadeh; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) are major DNA lesions that when repaired unfaithfully can give rise to loss of genetic information, chromosomal rearrangements such as insertions/deletions (indels) and copy number alterations (CNAs), which in turn lead to genomic instability that is characteristic of almost all cancer types. In this context, it is thought that genomic instability has critical roles in cancer initiation, progression and intra-tumor heterogeneity (ITH). READ MORE

  3. 3. Novel methods for mapping genome organization and genome fragility in the 3D space of the nucleus

    Author : Tomasz Kallas; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : For over a century, scientists have been trying to understand how the DNA molecule that is so tightly packed in the micro space of the nucleus sustains critical cellular processes such as transcription, replication or the maintenance of genetic information. Despite the huge effort of researchers around the world, we know relatively little. READ MORE
