1. Asymmetric Hydrogenations using N, P - Ligated Iridium Complexes
Abstract : The research described in this thesis focuses on the catalytic asymmetric hydrogenation of prochiral olefins using N, P – chelated iridium catalysts. This catalytic system is tolerant to a wide range of substrates and performs better than the well-known ruthenium- and rhodium-catalytic systems for substrates devoid of coordinating groups in proximity of the olefin. 2. Synthesis of chiral allyl and propargyl boronates by organocatalytic carbene insertion to carbon-boron bonds
Abstract : This thesis describes the development of a novel organocatalytic method for the synthesis of chiral allyl- and propargyl- organoboron compounds with high enantioselectivity. These organoboron species are versatile building blocks in asymmetric synthesis. We have developed a new efficient homologation method of alkenyl boronic acids. READ MORE

3. Copper and Palladium-Mediated Transformationsof Allylic and Propargylic Substrates
Abstract : This thesis is focused on the development of new palladium and copper-mediated reactions for functionalization of alkenes and propargylic alcohol derivatives. We have developed an efficient procedure for the synthesis of allenyl and propargyl boronate from propargylic carbonates and acetates. READ MORE

4. Synthesis of functionalized allylic, propargylic and allenylic compounds : Selective formation of C–B, C–C, C–CF3 and C-Si bonds
Abstract : This thesis is focused on the development of new palladium and copper- mediated reactions for functionalization of alkenes and propargylic alcohol derivatives. The synthetic utility of the 1,2-diborylated butadienes synthesized in one of these processes has also been demonstrated. READ MORE

5. Palladium-catalyzed Allylic C-H and C-OH Functionalization. Reactions of the Obtained Allylboronic Acids
Abstract : This thesis is focused on the studies of two major transformations. The first transformation deals with the development of palladium-catalyzed selective allylic trifluoroacetoxylation reactions based on C-H functionalization, whereas the second comprises the synthesis and isolation of allylboronic acids using diboronic acid B2(OH)4 as boron source.
