1. Automated Bottleneck Analysis of Production Systems : Increasing the applicability of simulation-based multi-objective optimization for bottleneck analysis within industry
Abstract : Manufacturing companies constantly need to explore new management strategies and new methods to increase the efficiency of their production systems and retain their competitiveness. It is of paramount importance to develop new bottleneck analysis methods that can identify the factors that impede the overall performance of their productionsystems so that the optimal improvement actions can be performed. 2. Resource-Aware and Personalized Federated Learning via Clustering Analysis
Abstract : Today’s advancement in Artificial Intelligence (AI) enables training Machine Learning (ML) models on the daily-produced data by connected edge devices. To make the most of the data stored on the device, conventional ML approaches require gathering all individual data sets and transferring them to a central location to train a common model. READ MORE

4. Window-based congestion control : Modeling, analysis and design
Abstract : This thesis presents a model for the ACK-clock inner loop, common to virtually all Internet congestion control protocols, and analyzes the stability properties of this inner loop, as well as the stability and fairness properties of several window update mechanisms built on top of the ACK-clock. Aided by the model for the inner-loop, two new congestion control mechanisms are constructed, for wired and wireless networks. READ MORE
