  1. 1. Development of a geometallurgical framework for iron ores - A mineralogical approach to particle-based modeling

    Author : Mehdi Parian; Pertti Lamberg; Jan Rosenkranz; Julie Hunt; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Geometallurgy; process simulation; breakage characterization; ore texture; iron ore; modal mineralogy;

    Abstract : The demands for efficient utilization of ore bodies and proper risk management in the mining industry have resulted in a new cross-disciplinary subject called geometallurgy. Geometallurgy connects geological, mineral processing and subsequent downstream processing information together to provide a comprehensive model to be used in production planning and management. 2. 2. Characterization and densification of carbonized lignocellulosic biomass

    Author : Magnus Rudolfsson; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : This thesis focuses on developing two main areas: characterization and densification of carbonized lignocellulosic biomass. Thermally treated biomass undergoes changes that enrich the content of carbon in the remaining solid fraction. READ MORE

  3. 3. Identification and characterization of small molecules targeting MYC function

    Author : Qinzi Yan; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The MYC family genes (c-, N- and L-MYC) encode potent oncoproteins/transcription factors regulating fundamental cellular processes involved in cell proliferation, metabolism and survival, and they play an important role in tumor development. Overexpression of MYC often induce apoptosis as a failsafe mechanism to prevent tumor development and it is known to sensitize cells to genotoxic agents that induce DNA damage by triggered apoptosis. 4. 4. Particle generation for geometallurgical process modeling

    Author : Pierre-Henri Koch; Jan Rosenkranz; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Geometallurgy; ore texture; texture classification; breakage simulation; process modeling; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Abstract : A geometallurgical model is the combination of a spatial model representing an ore deposit and a process model representing the comminution and concentration steps in beneficiation. The process model itself usually consists of several unit models. READ MORE

  5. 5. Surface Integrity Characterization of Gears with respect to Running-in

    Author : Dinesh Mallipeddi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; micropitting; surface asperities; running-in; surface roughness; residual stresses; Gears; surface chemistry;

    Abstract : A gearbox with gears of different sizes is part of a vehicle transmission system that plays an important part in transmitting the engine power to the wheels. The efficient energy transmission highly relies on the performance of gears. Together, the mesh efficiency and durability determines the gear performance. READ MORE
