    Abstract : Increasing awareness of sustainable building materials has led to interest in enhancing the structural performance of engineered wood products. Wood is a sustainable, renewable material, and the increasing use of wood in construction contributes to its sustainability. READ MORE

  3. 3. MELCOR Capability Development for Simulation of Debris Bed Coolability

    Author : Yangli Chen; Weimin Ma; Michael Buck; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Severe accident; coolability; MELCOR; COCOMO; surrogate modeling; coupling codes; uncertainty analysis.; Kärnenergiteknik; Nuclear Engineering;

    Abstract : The severe accident management (SAM) strategy for a Nordic boiling water reactor (BWR) employs cavity flooding prior to vessel failure, so that the core melt (corium) discharged from the vessel could fragment and form a particulate debris bed. The key to the success of this SAM strategy is the coolability of ex-vessel debris beds. READ MORE

  4. 4. Study on Metallic Melt Coolant Interactions and Debris Bed Formation in a Water Pool

    Author : Yan Xiang; Weimin Ma; Sevostian Bechta; Andrei A. Komlev; Michael Buck; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Severe accident; fuel coolant interactions; metallic melt; jet fragmentation; debris bed; CLSVOF.; Svåra haverier; interaktioner mellan bränsle och kylmedel; metallsmälta; jetfragmentering; grusbädd; CLSVOF; Kärnenergiteknik; Nuclear Engineering;

    Abstract : To assess corium coolability during severe accidents of LWR, significant number of studies have been conducted previously to investigate the characteristics of debris beds formed from FCI due to fragmentation of molten corium and settlement of the fragments in a water pool. However, their focus has been placed on the oxidic component (UO2/ZrO2) of corium, while little attention has been paid to the debris bed formation due to FCI of the metallic component (Zr/Fe) of corium. 5. 5. DC-DC Converters - Dynamic Model Design and Experimental Verification

    Author : Bengt Johansson; Industriell elektroteknik och automation; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; robotics; buck; dc-dc converter; modeling; audio susceptibility; current-mode control; load current; gain scheduling; current transformer; experimental verification; Electronics and Electrical technology; Automation; Elektronik och elektroteknik; Elektroteknik; Electrical engineering; reglerteknik; robotteknik; Automatiska system; control engineering;

    Abstract : To obtain high performance control of a dc-dc converter, a good model of the converter is needed. The load usually affects the dynamics and one way to take this into consideration is to regard the load as a part of the converter. The load is often the most variable part of this system. READ MORE
