  1. 1. Heated air gaps a possibility to dry out dampness from building constructions

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Tord af Klintberg; KTH.; [2008]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Water damage; convection; air gap; building; construction; TECHNOLOGY Civil engineering and architecture Building engineering; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur Byggnadsteknik;

    Abstract : The air gap method is a modification of the common way of building indoor walls and floors. The aim of the method is to make a construction, less fragile to water damage, with air gaps where moisture can be removed with a thermally driven air flow, caused by a heating cable. The thesis includes a number of experimental studies of this method. READ MORE

  2. 2. Industrial Construction Methods for Cost-Effective and Sustainable Multi-Storey Buildings

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Hanif Pourghazian; KTH.; [2008]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TECHNOLOGY Civil engineering and architecture Building engineering; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur Byggnadsteknik;

    Abstract : Reduction of the cost of construction is a constant goal for the building industry. One way of reducing the construction cost of buildings is to develop building technologies that will give increased productivity. Reduced construction time at the building-site and waste of materials and resources contribute to furtherreduction of the costs. READ MORE
