1. Multimodal and multiscale brain networks : understanding aging, Alzheimer’s disease, and other neurodegenerative disorders
Abstract : The human brain can be modeled as a complex network, often referred to as the connectome, where structural and functional connections govern its organization. Several neuroimaging studies have focused on understanding the architecture of healthy brain networks and have shed light on how these networks evolve with age and in the presence of neurodegenerative disorders. 2. Bilateral kinetic, kinematic, neuromechanical, and muscle-tendon properties of habitual runners
Abstract : Achilles tendon overuse-related injuries are a frequent problem to habitual runners. Such injuries occur more often unilaterally and its etiology is associated to overloading of the tendon tissue. Inter-limb differences during running are a possible cause for overload due to eventual differences in the mechanical loading provided to each limb. READ MORE

3. The impact of criminal and externalizing behaviors on aging : Long-term associations with health and dementia
Abstract : Previous studies have shown that criminal and other externalizing behaviors are associated with several adverse outcomes, but very little is known about the impact of these behaviors beyond middle adulthood. Few studies have explored how a life-course background of criminal and externalizing behaviors influence aging and more specifically, whether it is associated with the onset and development of different neurodegenerative, mental, and physical health disorders when aging. 4. Mesoporous material systems for catalysis and drug delivery
Abstract : Hybrid material systems possess multi-functional properties which make them intriguing for the materials science community since very early dates. However, it is not straightforward to produce such material systems. A smart and efficient approach is necessary to extract the desired properties of each component under the desired conditions. 5. CFD Predictions Including Verification and Validation of Hydrodynamic Forces and Moments on a Ship in Restricted Waters
Abstract : The evaluation of ship manoeuvrability is of significance at the initial design stage, as inappropriate manoeuvring performance may result in unstable ship motion, difficulties in steering and even marine accidents. Restricted waters, with the presence of solid boundaries of the flow field, such as a shallow seabed below the hull or a side bank in the vicinity of the hull, complicate the flow field and introduce an influence on hydrodynamic forces and moments acting on the hull.
