  1. 1. Carbon Nanotube Transistors: Nanotube Growth, Contact Properties and Novel Devices

    Author : Johannes Svensson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Carbon nanotube; chemical vapour deposition; Field effect transistor; Marangoni convection; Schottky barrier;

    Abstract : Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are envisioned to be used as the basic building blocks in future electronics due to their excellent electronic properties such as high mobility, compatibility with high-k dielectrics and small diameters resulting in advantageous electrostatics. This thesis is divided into three separate topics related to increasing the fabrication yield and performance of CNT field effect transistors (CNTFETs). READ MORE

  2. 2. Modeling Carbon Nanotube Field Effect Transistors with Fixed and Suspended Nanotube Gates

    Author : Yury Tarakanov; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Carbon nanotubes (CNT) exhibit a range of properties that make them well suited for nanoelectronic and nanoelectromechanical devices. One-dimensional field effect transistors based on single-walled CNTs have demonstrated excellent electrical characteristics and are competitive with silicon-based solutions, and oscillators based on suspended CNTs have been shown to work at gigahertz frequencies with Q-factors exceeding 10$^3$. 3. 3. Synthesis and Characterization of Carbon Based One-Dimensional Structures : Tuning Physical and Chemical Properties

    Author : HamidReza Barzegar; Thomas Wågberg; Hans Kuzmany; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Carbon Nanotube; single-walled carbon nanotube; nitrogen doped; chemical vapor deposition; fullerene; hybrid structures; nanomaterials; nanomaterial;

    Abstract : Carbon nanostructures have been extensively used in different applications; ranging from electronic and optoelectronic devices to energy conversion. The interest stems from the fact that covalently bonded carbon atoms can form a wide variety of structures with zero-, one- and two-dimensional configuration with different physical properties. 4. 4. Elastic properties of suspended graphene

    Author : Daniel Midtvedt; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns describing the mechanical properties of the two dimensional material graphene by continuum elasticity theory. In particular, Nano ElectroMechanical Systems (NEMS) where part of the graphene sheet is made suspended, are considered. READ MORE
