  1. 1. Second generation of Glucose Biosensors : Biofuel cells and Neurotransitters

    Author : NAJAT BEDEN; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; GDH; PDH; GOx; CDH; mediated electron transfer MET; Os-polymer; Man-Os VI tmen; PVPOs II -Chitosan; Au-NPs-MWCNTS; enzymatic biosensors; non-enzymatic sensor; DA-sensor; Multi-analyte sensor; DA; AA; UA;

    Abstract : Different FAD dependent GDH enzymes together with the Os-redox polymer Os(4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine)2(PVI)10Cl]+ and a modified graphite electrode was shown to have distinct selectivity and high turnover rates towards glucose. The results of this study suggest that such electrodes may be applied either for glucose determination or as bioanodes in glucose biofuel cells. READ MORE

  2. 2. Genetically Engineered Plants: Improved stress tolerance, growth and facilitated protein purification

    Author : Gösta Lilius; Tillämpad biokemi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; glycine betaine; gene; freezing; flooding; drought; dicoteledones; desiccation; compatible solutes; cold; choline dehydrogenase; chill; CDH; betaine; betA; alkaloids anoxia; affinity purification; affinity tags; handles; hemoglobin; hypoxia; low temperatu; Biotechnology; Bioteknik;

    Abstract : Heterologous genes were expressed in plants in which the overall goal was to increase the value of the final crop. Various aspects were explored and evaluated, such as improving the stress tolerance, enhancing the availability of oxygen in growing cells and producing rare proteins with increased degrees of purity. 4. 4. Cellobiose dehydrogenase on electrodes - an electrochemical biosensor for various analytes tunable by positive charges

    Author : Christopher Schulz; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cellobiose dehydrogenase; direct electron transfer; amperometric biosensor; glucose; lactose; cellobiose; calcium; polycation; graphite; gold; electrode;

    Abstract : Cellobiose dehydrogenase (CDH) is a sugar oxidizing enzyme secreted by various species of wood degrading fungi to assist the process of wood degradation. It can oxidise analytically relevant sugars as cellobiose, lactose or glucose leading to a gain of two electrons per sugar molecule. READ MORE

  5. 5. Direct electron transfer between cellobiose dehydrogenase and solidmetal or graphite electrodes

    Author : Ted Larsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; Fysik; Physics; Fysik; Physical Chemistry; fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : Direct electron transfer (ET) between the enzyme cellobiose dehydrogenase (CDH) and different metal and graphite electrodes has been investigated. The heme domain of the CDH has been shown to play a key-role in the direct ET. A mechanism for the ET between CDH and graphite electrodes was proposed. READ MORE
