1. Cellulose Biosynthesis in Oomycetes
Abstract : Oomycetes have long been considered as a separate class within the kingdom Fungi, but they are in fact closer to brown algae. They are currently classified in the Stramenopile eukaryotic kingdom, which includes heterokont algae and water molds. READ MORE

2. Tailoring Cellulose Nanofibrils for Advanced Materials
Abstract : Cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs) are nanoscale fibers of high aspect ratio that can be isolated from a wide variety of cellulosic sources, including wood and bacterial cellulose. With high strength despite of their low density, CNFs are a promising renewable building block for the preparation of nanostructured materials and composites. READ MORE

3. Structural changes during cellulose composite processing
Abstract : Two approaches for creating a new all-cellulose composite material have been studied: the biosynthesis of compartmentalised bacterial cellulose fibril aggregates and the compression moulding of commercial chemical wood pulps processed with only water. The objective was to study the structural changes during processing and the complexity of relating the mechanical properties of the final biocomposites to the nanoscale structure was highlighted. 4. Discovery and Characterization of a Novel Microtubule Associated Protein Involved in Cellulose Biosynthesis
Abstract : Cell walls are a distinct feature of plants and their chemical constituents, cellulose, hemicelluloses and lignin, are economically valuable. Plant fibres rich in cellulose, which mainly resides in their cell wall, are traditionally used in making paper and textiles. READ MORE

5. Functional genomics of wood degradation and biosynthesis
Abstract : Forest biotechnology is a fast emerging field of research. The application of biotechnological tools will enhance the quality of the forest products. The resultant value added and environmentally sustainable products are an absolute necessity in the future. READ MORE
