1. Late Holocene humidity variability in central Sweden
Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to reconstruct humidity variability in central Sweden during the late Holocene. A multi-proxy approach was used to infer humidity changes as recorded in a lake and a mire. Age-models were constructed based on radiocarbon dating and the Askja-1875 tephra. READ MORE

2. Free-Vehicle Benthic Lander Technology for the Study of Biogeochemical Processes in Marine Sediments
Abstract : Various sediment sampling and incubation techniques were used to characterize benthic biogeochemical processes important for an improved understanding of the oceanic carbon cycle. Recent flux data from the Arctic Siberian shelf are revealing differences (often by a factor of ten) between areas affected by the big Russian river outlets (high fluxes) and areas with low influence from land (low fluxes). 3. Wear in cone crusher chambers
Abstract : Cone crushers are widely used in the mining and aggregates industries to reduce the size of blasted rock. A cone crusher consists of a fixed conic liner called concave and inside it a smaller moving liner called mantle. The mantle is suspended on an eccentrically rotating shaft. READ MORE

4. Ion recombination in liquid ionization chambers : development of an experimental method to quantify general recombination
Abstract : An experimental method (the two-dose-rate method) for the correction of general recombination losses in liquid ionization chambers has been developed and employed in experiments with different liquids and radiation qualities. The method is based on a disassociation of initial and general recombination, since an ionized liquid is simultaneously affected by both of these processes. READ MORE

5. Thermo-Acoustic Properties in Combustion Chambers
Abstract : Design and analysis methods for gas turbine combustors or afterburners have to be improved in particular regarding the prediction of combustion instabilites. A methodology, which combines the use of a linearized flow solver and an Arnoldi algorithm performing the eigenmode extraction procedure, resolves eigenmodes which are candidates to these instabilities.
