    Abstract : Heterogeneous electrocatalysis is the usage of solid materials to decrease the amount of energy needed to produce chemicals using electricity. It is of core importance for modern life, as it enables production of chemicals, such as chlorine gas and sodium chlorate, needed for e.g. materials and pharmaceuticals production. READ MORE

  2. 2. Influence of total pressure on complete oxidation of methane over Pd/Al2O3 catalysts

    Author : Carl-Robert Florén; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Pd Al2O3; methane oxidation; multiscale flow-reactor model; total pressure;

    Abstract : Natural gas and biogas, which have methane as their main component, are interesting choices of fuel to reduce the anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases. However, as methane is a greenhouse gas, uncombusted methane should be removed from the combustion gases. Emission control catalysts can preferably be used to completely oxidise methane. READ MORE

  3. 3. Aging of Lean NOX Trap Catalysts and Hydrocarbon Trapping in Cold-Start Applications

    Author : Rasmus Jonsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : It is well known that combustion processes worldwide give rise to emissions such as nitrogen oxides (NOX), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC) and particulates. For vehicles, the method for handling these emissions has been through the development of the catalytic converter. READ MORE

  4. 4. Catalytic Upgrading of Waste Oils to Advanced Biofuels – Deactivation and Kinetic Modelling Study

    Author : Prakhar Arora; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Abstract : The demand for liquid hydrocarbons as transportation fuels is enormous and ever growing. Advanced biofuels is one of the promising solutions to keep pace with the global transition to cleaner energy by reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the transport sector. READ MORE

  5. 5. Specific ion effects in carboxymethyl cellulose adsorption on cellulose: A step towards modification of fibers in fiber line

    Author : Vishnu Arumughan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Carboxymethyl cellulose; Polymer adsorption; Cellulose; Specific ionic effects;

    Abstract : The increasing global demands for paper products have fuelled the research in developing new fibers from existing industrial processes. The adsorption of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) has been shown to improve the tensile properties of the paper significantly. READ MORE
