1. Platelet Inhibition in Coronary Artery Disease – Mechanisms and Clinical Importance : Studies with Focus on P2Y12 Inhibition
Abstract : Despite the currently recommended dual antiplatelet treatment (DAT) with aspirin and P2Y12 inhibition in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) there is a risk of adverse clinical outcome. Pharmacodynamic (PD) poor response to clopidogrel occurs in ~ 30% of clopidogrel-treated patients and is associated with an increased risk of recurrent thrombotic events. READ MORE

2. Studies on platelet function and microvesicles in acute coronary syndrome
Abstract : INTRODUCTION: The cornerstone of treatment of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and dual antiplatelet therapy (DAT) with aspirin and the ADP-receptor inhibitor clopidogrel. However, some ACS patients will suffer from recurrent cardiovascular events, and it has been shown that this may partly be due to an insufficient antiplatelet response to DAT. READ MORE

3. Experimental and Clinical Studies on Platelet Receptors in Cardiovascular Disease
Abstract : The crucial role of platelets in maintaining primary hemostais has been evident for a long time and there is now also mounting evidence for their involvement in inflammation. In combination with aspirin, inhibition of the platelet P2Y12 ADP receptor with clopidogrel has become a cornerstone in the antiplatelet in acute coronary syndromes. READ MORE

4. Platelet function and thrombin generation in ischemic stroke : clinical correlates and prognostic importance
Abstract : Platelet function is central to atherothombotic diseases and antiplatelet agents prevent non-cardioembolic ischemic stroke (IS). Individual differences in platelet reactivity may limit the response to antiplatelet treatment, leading to so-called high on-treatment platelet reactivity (HPR). READ MORE
