  1. 1. Cluster Initiatives as Intermediaries : A Study of their Management and Stakeholders

    Author : Inessa Laur; Magnus Klofsten; Dzamila Bienkowska; Peter Van der Sijde; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Cluster; cluster initiatives; intermediary organization; regional development; entrepreneurship; success factors; actors stakeholders and activities;

    Abstract : This dissertation offers a platform to understand the nature of cluster initiatives as a socio-economic phenomenon combining cluster, entrepreneurship and intermediary features. They are particular types of ventures facilitating networks and dialog platforms adjusted to local contexts and offering a way to enhance regional development. READ MORE

  2. 2. Bayesian Cluster Analysis : Some Extensions to Non-standard Situations

    Author : Jessica Franzén; Daniel Thorburn; Jukka Corander; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cluster analysis; Clustering; Classification; Mixture model; Gaussian; Bayesian inference; MCMC; Gibbs sampler; Deviant group; Longitudinal; Missing data; Multiple imputation; Statistics; Statistik; Statistics; statistik;

    Abstract : The Bayesian approach to cluster analysis is presented. We assume that all data stem from a finite mixture model, where each component corresponds to one cluster and is given by a multivariate normal distribution with unknown mean and variance. READ MORE

  3. 3. Metal Cluster Reactivity. Adsorption of small molecules in biomolecular collisions

    Author : Mats Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; O2; CO; ionization potential; Con; Fen; NO; sticking probability; laser ionization; D2; Wn; Cun; Rhn; reaction probability; cluster; jellium model; Nbn; metal cluster reactivity; N2; time-of-flight mass spectrometry; Nin;

    Abstract : Metal clusters can be characterized as the tiniest possible metal particles, containing only an easily counted number of atoms. In this work, reactions between metal clusters and diatomic molecules have been investigated. We have constructed an experimental set-up to produce and detect clusters, and to investigate their chemical reactivity. READ MORE

  4. 4. A Treatise on the Geometric and Electronic Structure of Clusters : Investigated by Synchrotron Radiation Based Electron Spectroscopies

    Author : Andreas Lindblad; Olle Björneholm; Gunnar Öhrwall; Maxim Tchaplyguine; Paolo Milani; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cluster; nanoparticle; Heterogeneous; Homogeneous; Mixed; Cluster production methods; co-expansion; pick-up; doping; Cluster geometry; radial segregation; Interatomic Coulombic Decay; ICD; Auger electron spectroscopy; AES; X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy; XPS; Ultra-violet spectroscopy; UPS; Noble gas; Rare gas; Ne; Ar; Kr; Xe; Ammonia; NH3; Sulphur hexafluoride; SF6; MAX-lab; BESSY; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : Clusters are finite ensembles of atoms or molecules with sizes in the nanometer regime (i.e. nanoparticles). This thesis present results on the geometric and electronic structure of homogeneous and heterogeneous combinations of atoms and molecules. READ MORE

  5. 5. Magnetic Reconnection in Space Plasmas : Cluster Spacecraft Observations

    Author : Alessandro Retinò; Mats André; Andris Vaivads; Bengt U. Ö. Sonnerup; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Space and plasma physics; space physics; plasma astrophysics; plasma physics; transport processes; boundary layers; magnetic reconnection; turbulence; particle acceleration; solar system; magnetospheres; Rymd- och plasmafysik;

    Abstract : Magnetic reconnection is a universal process occurring at boundaries between magnetized plasmas, where changes in the topology of the magnetic field lead to the transport of charged particles across the boundaries and to the conversion of electromagnetic energy into kinetic and thermal energy of the particles. Reconnection occurs in laboratory plasmas, in solar system plasmas and it is considered to play a key role in many other space environments such as magnetized stars and accretion disks around stars and planets under formation.
