    Abstract : This investigation is devoted to the study of welding and its effect on the workpiece, focusing on the thermo and fluid dynamical phenomena occuring during a autogenous or nonautogenous arc fusion welding process. Its aim is to simulate the behaviour of the weld pool and analyze the consequence of the solid-liquid phase change, thus obtaining a methodology for predicting the appearance of weld defects related to solidification and cooling. Abstract : After several years of disussions, tests, investigations and additional tests, the suppliers and retailers within the Swedish business sector for food and commodities formed a jointly owned, non-profit company in 1997, which subsequently started in physical operations in 2000. This company, Svenska Retursystem AB (www.retursystem. READ MORE

  3. 3. The management of common-pool resources : theoretical essays and empirical evidence

    Author : Ingela Ternström; Handelshögskolan i Stockholm; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : A large part of the poor people in the world is dependent on local natural resources for their survival. Often, these resources are managed as common-pool resources; that is, they are used in common by a limited group of people, who are dependent on each other in their use of the resource. READ MORE

  4. 4. Essays on Behavioral Economics and Fisheries: Coordination and Cooperation

    Abstract : Kapitel 1: Samarbete under risk och sann osäkerhet (ambiguity). Avkastningen på investeringar i kollektiva nyttigheter är nästan alltid osäker till skillnad från den design som används i ekonomiska experiment i den rådande empiriska litteraturen. READ MORE

  5. 5. Simple Models for Complex Nonequilibrium Problems in Nanoscale Friction and Network Dynamics

    Abstract : This doctoral thesis investigates three different topics: How friction evolves in atomically thin layered materials (2D materials); How social dynamics can be used to model grand scale common-pool resource games; Benchmarking of various image reconstruction algorithms in atomic force microscopy experiments. While these topics are diverse, they share being complex out-of-equilibrium systems. READ MORE
