  1. 1. Homotrimeric dUTPases : Principles of Catalysis and Inhibitor Design

    Author : Lorena Gonzalez Palmén; Jan Kvassman; Dolores Gonzalez-Pacanowska; Högskolan i Kalmar; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; dUTPases; kinetics; ground state destabilization; inhibitors; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Natural Science; Naturvetenskap;

    Abstract : The ubiquitous enzyme dUTPase hydrolyzes dUTP into dUMP and pyrophosphate, preventing DNA fragmentation and cell death due to accumulation of dUTP. Inhibitors of dUTPase could serve as drugs in the treatment of cancers and infectious diseases. This thesis presents five studies. READ MORE

  2. 2. Computational Modelling of Structures and Ligands of CYP2C9

    Author : Lovisa Afzelius; Collen Masimirembwa; Ismael Zamora; Anders Karlén; Marcel de Groot; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical chemistry; CYP2C9; 3D QSAR; GRID; CYP450; pharmacophore modelling; homology modelling; metabolism; competitive inhibitors; CPCA; molecular dynamics simulations; Farmaceutisk kemi; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; Medicinal Chemistry; läkemedelskemi;

    Abstract : CYP2C9 is one of our major drug metabolising enzymes and belongs to the cytochrome P450 (CYP) super family. The aim of this thesis was to gain an understanding of the quantitative structure–activity relationships (QSAR) of CYP2C9 substrates and inhibitors. READ MORE

  3. 3. Design, synthesis and evaluation of bacterial sialic acid uptake inhibitors

    Author : Tiago Bozzola; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sialic Acid; antibacterial agents; Medicinal Chemistry; Synthesis; uptake inhibitors;

    Abstract : Antibiotic resistance is a major threat for our society and finding novel antibacterial therapies is of greatimportance. In this thesis, we investigate bacterial sialic acid uptake inhibitors as a novel antibacterial approach.Bacteria do not biosynthesise sialic acid and therefore harvest it from the host. READ MORE

  4. 4. Knowledge Dissemination in Multinational Corporations

    Author : Dan Paulin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Abstract : Today’s globalization trend in industry is of major importance for world economy. One effect of the globalization trend is that international companies are exposed to a broadened knowledge base. A major competitive advantage for a multinational corporation (MNC) is its ability to utilize knowledge that is situated at the different locations. READ MORE

  5. 5. CRISPRi/a for investigating yeast tolerance to inhibitors in lignocellulosic hydrolysates

    Author : Ibai Lenitz Etxaburu; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
