  1. 1. Compressed Sensing : Algorithms and Applications

    Author : Dennis Sundman; Mikael Skoglund; Magnus Jansson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; compressed sensing; greedy pursuits; subspace pursuit; orthogonal matching pursuit; power spectral density estimation; distributed compressed sensing;

    Abstract : The theoretical problem of finding the solution to an underdeterminedset of linear equations has for several years attracted considerable attentionin the literature. This problem has many practical applications.One example of such an application is compressed sensing (cs), whichhas the potential to revolutionize how we acquire and process signals. READ MORE

  2. 2. Source and Channel Coding for Compressed Sensing and Control

    Author : Amirpasha Shirazinia; Mikael Skoglund; Pier Luigi Dragotti; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Source coding; quantization; channel coding; compressed sensing; control; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : Rapid advances in sensor technologies have fueled massive torrents of data streaming across networks. Such large volume of information, indeed, restricts the operational performance of data processing, causing inefficiency in sensing, computation, communication and control. READ MORE

  3. 3. Search for Supersymmetry and Large Extra Dimensions with the ATLAS Experiment

    Author : Gabriele Bertoli; Christophe Clement; Martijn Mulders; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ATLAS; CERN; large extra dimensions; supersymmetry; compressed; squark; neutralino; monojet; ADD; standard model; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : The Large Hadron Collider is the most powerful particle accelerator built to date. It is a proton-proton and heavy ion collider which in 2015 and 2016 operated at an unprecedented center of mass energy of √s = 13 TeV. The Tile Calorimeter is the ATLAS hadronic calorimeter covering the central region of the detector. READ MORE

  4. 4. Theoretical Investigations of Compressed Materials

    Author : Wei Luo; Rajeev Ahuja; Maurizio Mattesini; KTH; []
    Keywords : TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : The use of high pressure as a tool to design new materials as well as to investigatematerials properties has become increasingly important during last one decade. The maingoal of the present thesis is to enhance the significance of the high pressure method as aquantitative tool in solid state investigations. READ MORE

  5. 5. Non-Convex Methods for Compressed Sensing and Low-Rank Matrix Problems

    Author : Daniele Gerosa; Matematik (naturvetenskapliga fakulteten); []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; compressed sensing; Low-rank Approximation; phase retrieval; Non-convex optimization;

    Abstract : In this thesis we study functionals of the type \( \mathcal{K}_{f,A,\b}(\x)= \mathcal{Q}(f)(\x) + \|A\x - \b \| ^2 \), where \(A\) is a linear map, \(\b\) a measurements vector and \( \mathcal{Q} \) is a functional transform called \emph{quadratic envelope}; this object is a very close relative of the \emph{Lasry-Lions envelope} and its use is meant to regularize the functionals \(f\). Carlsson and Olsson investigated in earlier works the connections between the functionals \( \mathcal{K}_{f,A,\b}\) and their unregularized counterparts \(f(\x) + \|A\x - \b \| ^2 \). READ MORE
