1. Fatigue of steel bridges : New structural details and the implementation of high strength steel
Abstract : The use of high strength steel has the potential to reduce the amount of steel used in bridge structures and thereby facilitate a more sustainable construction. The amount of steel and what steel grade that can be used in bridge structures and other cyclic loaded structures are often limited by a material degradation process called fatigue. READ MORE

2. A theory of bond applied to overlapped tensile reinforcement splices for deformed bars
Abstract : A bond theory for deformed reinforcing bars in concrete is elaborated taking into account different stages in development of final rupture occurring as splitting or pull-out. The concrete cover splitting resistance is modelled for a thick-walled concrete ring in elastic and plastic stages. Different final possible failure modes are analysed. READ MORE

3. Evaluation of concrete structures : strength development and fatigue capacity
Abstract : This licentiate thesis consists of four papers. In paper A the development of tensile and compression strength are presented for old concrete railway trough bridges. The compression strength has usually increased 50 to 100% over the years. However the same could not be said for the tensile strength. READ MORE

4. Application of Fracture Mechanics to Concrete Bridges. Finite element analyses and experiments
Abstract : Material models based on fracture mechanics together with non-linear finite element analyses have been used in combination with experiments to study the behaviour of reinforced concrete bridges. The work covers two aspects of interest in the design of concrete bridges.* The shear behaviour was studied in full-scale tests on two highway bridges. READ MORE

5. Design of concrete pavements : design criteria for plain and lean concrete
Abstract : New road infrastructure projects are important and constitute of large investments that have to serve the society for a long time. The investments have to be durable at the lowest life cycle cost and the pavements have to sustain loads from increasing traffic intensity and heavy traffic loads. READ MORE
