  1. 1. Fatigue life prediction of additively manufactured ductile nickel-based superalloys : Constitutive and crack initiation modelling

    Author : Thomas Lindström; Daniel Leidermark; Kjell Simonsson; Robert Eriksson; Magnus Ekh; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Additive manufacturing; Low-cycle fatigue; Thermomechanical fatigue; Constitutive modelling; Anisotropy;

    Abstract : This dissertation was produced at the Division of Solid Mechanics at Linköping University, and is the final result of a project that included mechanical testing and modelling of an additively manufactured ductile nickel-based superalloy.The main objective of the work presented in this thesis was to investigate and model the cyclic behaviour and the fatigue life behaviour of an additively manufactured ductile nickel-based superalloy, with emphasis on modelling the stabilised material behaviour, by which fatigue life predictions can be based upon. 2. 2. Cemented Carbide Sintering : Constitutive Relations and Microstructural Evolution

    Author : Anders Petersson; KTH; []
    Keywords : Cemented carbides; Sintering; Constitutive relations; Microstructure; Densification; Modelling;

    Abstract : Cemented carbides based on tungsten carbide and cobalt arecommonly produced by a powder metallurgy route including liquidphase sintering. The pressed compact densifies to almost halfits volume during sintering due to pore elimination. READ MORE

  3. 3. Behaviour and modelling of a natural soft clay : triaxial testing, constitutive relations and finite element modelling

    Author : Bo Westerberg; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Soil Mechanics; Geoteknik;

    Abstract : The main objectives if the research project have been to create an experimental basis for a more general theoretical modelling of Swedish clays and to improve the knowledge of the mechanical behaviour of natural soft clays. Another objective has been to investigate the effects of end restraint on the mechanical behaviour obtained in triaxial tests, by means of numerical simulations. READ MORE

  4. 4. Experimental and Modelling Studies on the Spreading of Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids in Heterogeneous Media

    Author : Fritjof Fagerlund; Auli Niemi; Tissa Illangasekare; Karsten Jensen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Hydrology; NAPL; Multi-phase flow; Modelling; Experiment design; Heterogeneity; Constitutive relations; Multi-constituent contaminants; Capillary pressure; Relative permeability; Hysteresis; Hydrologi;

    Abstract : Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids (NAPLs) include commonly occurring organic contaminants such as gasoline, diesel fuel and chlorinated solvents. When released to subsurface environments their spreading is a complex process of multi-component, multi-phase flow. READ MORE

  5. 5. Highly-filled biocomposites: modelling, processing, and characterization

    Author : Sajjad Pashazadehgaznagh; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; modelling; fiber orientation; rheology.; Wood plastic composites WPCs ; extrusion; surface instability;

    Abstract : The use of polymer with natural fiber reinforcements is expected to increase significantly. This can be noted in several industrial sectors of strategic importance for Sweden, such as automotive, packaging, construction, and furniture industries. READ MORE
