  1. 1. Nonparametric Message Passing Methods for Cooperative Localization and Tracking

    Author : Vladimir Savic; Santiago Zazo; Spain Technical University of Madrid; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cooperative localization; tracking; wireless sensor networks; message passing; particle filtering; belief propagation; RFID;

    Abstract : The objective of this thesis is the development of cooperative localization and tracking algorithms using nonparametric message passing techniques. In contrast to the most well-known techniques, the goal is to estimate the posterior probability density function (PDF) of the position of each sensor. READ MORE

  2. 2. Accuracy and Delay: An Inherent Trade-off in Cooperative UWB Navigation

    Author : Gabriel Garcia; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; positioning; Ultra-wideband; navigation; MAC delay; localization.; S-TDMA;

    Abstract : Location-aware applications and wireless sensor networks are becoming essential in our daily lives from a commercial, and public perspectives. The need of localization information to drive the applications is a key requirement. New technologies have emerged to tackle the problem of the limitations of the Global Positioning System (GPS) solutions. READ MORE

  3. 3. On the trade-off between uncertainty and delay in UWB and 5G localization

    Author : Gabriel Garcia; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Abstract : Location-aware technologies in combination with emerging wireless communication systems have revolutionized many aspects of our daily lives by means of applications within the commercial, public and military sectors. Ultra-wideband (UWB) and 5G stand out as emerging radio frequency (RF) based technologies that tackle the limitations of Global Positioning System solutions. READ MORE

  4. 4. Cooperative and Interaction Control for Underwater Robotic Vehicles

    Author : Shahab Heshmati-Alamdari; Kostas J. Kyriakopoulos; National Technical University of Athens School of Mechanical Engineering Control Systems Lab; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Marine robotics; Robotics; Underwater Vehicle Manipulator Systems; Cooperative manipulations; Visual servoing; Nonlinear Model Predictive Control; Autonomous Underwater Vehicles; Industrial Information and Control Systems; Industriella informations- och styrsystem; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Abstract : In this dissertation we address the problem of robust control for underwater robotic vehicles under resource constraints and inspired by practical applications in the field of marine robotics. By the term “resource constraints” we refer to systems with constraints on communication, sensing and energy resources. READ MORE

  5. 5. Wireless Sensor Network Positioning Techniques

    Author : Mohammad Reza Gholami; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; outer-approximations; Cram; Wireless sensor network; nonlinear and linear least squares; cooperative positioning; projection onto convex sets; maximum likelihood esti- mator;

    Abstract : Position information is one of the key requirements for wireless sensor networks(WSNs). Since GPS receivers have drawbacks when used in low-power sensor nodes,mainly due to latency in position recovery and limited access to GPS satellites in indoor-type scenarios, extracting the position information by means of the network itself, so-called positioning or localization, has been considered an eective solution for the posi-tioning problem.
